Background / History

Original Life and Death

Bibi Dong rose from Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden to its Pope, founded the Spirit Empire, and became the Rakshasa God. She fell in love with Yu Xiaogang and intended to elope with him, but suffered betrayal and abuse from her teacher, Qian Xunji. Her resentment toward Qian Xunji also shaped her rejection of their daughter, Qian Renxue 2 79 80 132 192.

In her original future, she launched the Soul Hunting Operation against the Upper Three Sects. Qian Daoliu prevented the attack on the Clear Sky Sect, leaving the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect as targets. She later admits that attacking the latter also served to deny Qian Renxue the satisfaction of bringing it under Spirit Hall’s control through her imperial infiltration 107.

During the future Dual Gods War, Qian Renxue risked her life to protect her. Bibi Dong finally acknowledged her love for her daughter and died blocking Tang San’s fatal attack in return 136.

Rebirth as Su Mo’s Martial Soul

Bibi Dong awakens inside Su Mo during his Martial Soul awakening ceremony. Becoming a child’s Spirit humiliates her, and she discovers that she cannot leave his body. The continued existence of the Notting City Spirit Hall Branch alerts her that she has returned to a time before Spirit Hall’s destruction 1 2.

She initially reveals herself only as Su Mo’s Second Martial Soul, the Rakshasa God. Believing that he must reach Soul Saint to awaken her, she despairs over his Level 2 Innate Soul Power 4.

Her early attempts to direct Su Mo include urging him to study under Yu Xiaogang. Their disagreement leaves her angry and withdrawn, but Su Mo’s ability to hunt soul beasts without soul skills forces her to reassess him. She begins actively helping with his cultivation and soul-ring choices 11 18.

Rejection of Yu Xiaogang and Reconciliation with Qian Renxue

Bibi Dong’s attachment to Yu Xiaogang ends when she overhears him admit that he deliberately attracted her to gain access to Spirit Hall’s knowledge. His declaration of hatred for her and Spirit Hall turns her lingering love into a desire for revenge 79.

She then tells Su Mo her history. He reveals his own knowledge of future events, but refuses to kill Yu Xiaogang immediately because the present Pope could retaliate. Their exchange establishes a more candid partnership 80.

Watching Qian Renxue’s painstaking performance as Xue Qinghe makes Bibi Dong recognize how much of her daughter’s life she missed. She later reveals her identity as Qian Renxue’s mother from the future, explains her past treatment of her, and asks for forgiveness. Qian Renxue accepts that this Bibi Dong loves her and agrees to keep her existence secret from the present Pope 92 99 136.

With Su Mo and Qian Renxue, she supports an alliance intended to protect the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. She also identifies the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud as the Sea God’s Heart, helping them plan to deny Tang San the Sea God inheritance 107 137.

Conflict with Her Past Self

After awakening, Bibi Dong encounters the present Pope inside the Rakshasa Domain. Her warnings about Tang San initially gain some credibility, but criticism of Yu Xiaogang provokes an attack. Su Mo recalls her before she is defeated; she brings the Rakshasa Demon Scythe with her, obstructing the Pope’s inheritance trials 131 132 133.

Bibi Dong later kills the imprisoned Yu Xiaogang herself. Qian Renxue takes responsibility rather than exposing her and Su Mo, leading the enraged Pope to imprison Qian Renxue. Bibi Dong regrets the danger her revenge has brought upon her daughter 192 198 199.

After recovering sufficient strength, she and Su Mo lure the Pope into the Life-and-Death Arena. Bibi Dong learns that Qian Daoliu has already secured Qian Renxue’s release, then overwhelms the Pope in combat and attempts to seize her body through Divine Sense 213 214 215.

The ensuing struggle for consciousness reaches a stalemate. Bibi Dong asks Su Mo to reenact the secret-room abuse from her past to destabilize the Pope. The Pope also receives her future self’s memories, including the truth about Yu Xiaogang; her resulting breakdown allows Bibi Dong to gain control. Bibi Dong returns to Spirit Hall as a living person, leaving an unconscious Rakshasa God Spirit behind in Su Mo 216.

Papacy, Unification, and Renewed Godhood

Back in Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong orders Hu Liena to secretly support the Heaven Dou Empire against Star Luo. She then helps negotiate Spirit Hall’s peaceful incorporation into the unified empire as the Empire Papal Court, retaining a role in governing the continent’s Soul Masters 221 228 229.

She postpones her own God Test to oversee the empire while Su Mo helps Qian Renxue in Future Time and Space. Her relationship with him becomes openly romantic, and she remains particularly concerned for the daughter who fought beside her in her original future 236 237.

Bibi Dong eventually completes the Rakshasa God’s Ninth Test in Slaughter City. The present Pope’s surviving consciousness briefly reclaims the body during her distraction, but Su Mo defeats her and Bibi Dong regains control 265 266.

Returning to Future Time and Space as the Rakshasa God, Bibi Dong destroys the Golden Iron Triangle’s fusion and personally kills that timeline’s Yu Xiaogang 269.

Her renewed affection for Qian Renxue contrasts sharply with the present Pope’s hostility. She regrets denying her daughter recognition, worries about her safety, and prioritizes helping both versions of Qian Renxue over immediately completing her own inheritance 107 136 236 237.

This affection does not erase her ruthlessness. She kills Yu Xiaogang without mercy, conditions Xiao Wu into obedience despite her hatred of Su Mo, and exploits her past self’s trauma to obtain a living body.
