Background and History

Awakening during the Uchiha Clan Massacre

Yue awakens in the Uchiha compound after transmigrating into the ninja world, only to arrive on the night of the clan massacre. Before he can establish the era or prepare himself, Itachi stabs him through the heart. Terror immediately turns into rage and an absolute refusal to die, driving his Sharingan from its ordinary state to Three Tomoe and then directly into the Mangekyō Sharingan 1.

His revived body begins absorbing surrounding chakra and the residual power of the slain Uchiha. He manifests a skeletal Susanoo and attacks Itachi, whose fire techniques are ineffective against the absorption field. The construct rapidly develops into an armored form during their battle 1 2.

Defeat of Itachi and Konoha's Collapse

Yue breaks free from Tsukuyomi, identifies Obito despite his disguise, and nearly takes Obito's eye before the latter escapes through Kamui 3. He absorbs Amaterasu rather than being consumed by it, rejects Itachi's demand that he die for the village, and drains Itachi's remaining energy until Itachi's corpse withers 3 4.

After Obito flees with the loss of an arm, Danzō and Root confront Yue. Yue easily defeats the Root forces and wounds Danzō before Kotoamatsukami temporarily halts him 4. Hiruzen is later killed in battle with Yue, leaving Konoha's surviving population to evacuate as the Uchiha compound becomes the center of an expanding disaster 8 85.

The Dead Silence Domain

Yue's energy absorption evolves beyond chakra and light, eventually consuming sound waves and other forms of energy with increasing efficiency 27. The resulting Dead Silence Domain functions as his hunting ground: energy inside it is drained and ultimately returns to him, allowing him to sustain techniques that would normally exhaust Mangekyō dōryoku 26 52 113.

The domain's growth turns Yue into a threat to the Land of Fire and later the entire planet. Its expansion consumes energy on a massive scale, causes environmental disasters, and makes conventional attempts to kill, seal, or outlast him ineffective 83 155 182.

Escalation into a Living Calamity

Yue defeats the White Snake Sage by using Izanagi after she erases his body and attempts to take his eyes 61. He later withstands Isshiki's attacks, poisons and assimilates Isshiki's chakra, and proves exceptionally difficult to kill or seal 43.

Nagato's attacks expose further developments: Yue can perceive energy beyond the normal capabilities of his Mangekyō and drain Nagato's invisible Limbo shadows with Evil God Chains 112. His true desire eventually becomes clear through his Mangekyō: a world of emptiness and silence 145.

Parallel Worlds and Temporal Adaptation

Yue studies the Dragon Vein to transmit power across parallel worlds and later follows the traces left by Space-Time travel to pursue those attempting to escape him 213 261. Uchiha Izumi's repeated Time Rewinds initially create opportunities to fight Yue at earlier stages, but Yue gradually adapts, retains more power between loops, and eventually traverses space-time freely 257 314.

Later opponents repeatedly destroy his body, but cannot permanently eliminate him. Each death becomes an opportunity for further evolution: he learns to perceive and cut death lines, then develops the ability to modify universal rules after observing rule-based attacks 316 324. Across the parallel worlds examined by his enemies, Yue is ultimately confirmed as a unique and unrepeatable anomaly 294.

Personality

Yue's first defining trait is his refusal to accept death. His Mangekyō awakens from a desperate need to survive, immediately followed by rage toward Itachi, the massacre, and the world that allowed it 1.

He is openly hostile to Konoha's attempts to frame his survival and retaliation as crimes against the village. Offers of the Hokage position, appeals to the Will of Fire, and demands that he commit suicide do not sway him; he responds with contempt and rejects Konoha's moral authority outright 96 97 101.

As his power grows, Yue becomes increasingly detached from ordinary human concerns. His wish for emptiness and silence reflects both his emotional collapse after the massacre and his eventual role as an annihilating force 88 145. In battle, however, he remains intensely observant: he uses opponents as opportunities to test, copy, and refine new abilities 316.
