Background
Di Xin was born into the Great Shang royal family in Chaoge and possessed a purple imperial aura that marked him as a future ruler tied to the Human Race's destiny. He sought longevity and cultivation not for personal escape, but to protect his family, homeland, and the Human Race from demon invasions. Chen Changsheng accepted him as his second disciple after testing that resolve. 9
Within Changsheng Palace's Scripture Pavilion, Di Xin received the Human Emperor Art. The scripture showed him a future in which the Human Race was oppressed by immortals, gods, and demons, reinforcing his determination to change humanity's fate. 11
After completing his initial cultivation, Di Xin left Mount Changsheng for Chaoge. Chen Changsheng instructed him not to disclose his master's identity or Changsheng Palace, and warned him against arrogance, extravagance, and debauchery. Di Xin instead vowed to establish a Sacred Dynasty and advance the Human Race. 28
Before returning to the palace, he toured Chaoge to understand its people and intervened against Fei Zhong's abuse of a civilian vendor. His public handling of the matter won popular support and further convinced Li Jing that he was worthy of loyalty. 36 37
Di Yi abdicated in Di Xin's favor shortly after witnessing his son's Human Emperor Dharma Form. Di Xin inherited Great Shang, immediately gained Dynastic Fortune, broke through to Golden Immortal, and ordered Fei Zhong's execution for his prior misconduct. 39
Reign and Human Emperor Ascension
Di Xin governed Great Shang diligently while pursuing a larger goal: a Holy Dynasty capable of stabilizing and strengthening the Human Race. He dispatched Li Jing to locate Yu the Great's Nine Cauldrons, whose completion was necessary for this plan. 40 43
After receiving the final cauldron from the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, he met the Three Great Ancestors—Sui Ren Shi, You Chao Shi, and Zi Yi Shi. They entrusted the future of the Human Race to him and bestowed the Kongtong Seal, which eagerly acknowledged him as its master. 60 61
Following victory against the Western Teachings at Great Shang's western border, Di Xin declared his intention to establish a Holy Dynasty and crown himself Human Emperor. 76
At his ascension ceremony in Chaoge, he revealed a statue of Chen Changsheng, named him the Human Race's Imperial Tutor, and decreed that honoring his master was equivalent to honoring the Human Emperor. The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors then united the Human Race's faith and destiny upon Di Xin, allowing him to prove his Dao. 101 102
When Zhunti's avatar attempted to prevent the ascension, Di Xin completed his breakthrough, manifested the Human Emperor Dharma Form, and destroyed the avatar with the second form of Three Forms of Saint Slaying. 104 107 109
Personality
Di Xin is driven by responsibility toward the Human Race. His pursuit of power, immortality, and dynastic authority is consistently framed as a means to protect humanity from demons, hostile sects, and outside control. 9 76 110
He is respectful toward his master, father, predecessors, and fellow disciples. Even after becoming Human Emperor, he introduces himself within Changsheng Palace simply as Chen Changsheng's second disciple. 38 61 123 124
As a ruler, Di Xin is observant and demanding. He studies the feelings of ordinary people before making political moves, evaluates Li Jing's character before trusting him, and values loyalty over simply gathering powerful subordinates. 36 38 68
He can also be uncompromising toward threats. His execution of Fei Zhong, challenge to Zhunti's avatar, and determination to kill Eastern Emperor Taiyi reflect an iron-handed willingness to act when he believes the Human Race is endangered. 39 107 397
