Background
Ao Lie is the Third Prince of the West Sea Dragon King, Ao Run. He was ambushed and pursued by the Northern Darkness Palace while outside the West Sea, but Chen Changsheng rescued him. Seeking both cultivation resources and the means to destroy the Northern Darkness Palace, Ao Lie accepted Chen Changsheng as his disciple and became Changsheng Palace's third disciple. 33
In the Scripture Pavilion, Ao Lie chose the Nine Transformations of the Dragon God, a bloodline cultivation method whose nine transformations return its practitioner toward the ancestral bloodline and ultimately allow them to become a Chaos Dragon God. His desire to use this inheritance to restore the Dragon Clan's glory became a central motivation for his cultivation. 34
After completing his first transformation, Ao Lie entered the Treasure Pavilion and obtained a top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure Dragon Pearl. He fused it with his origin Dragon Pearl, further strengthening his bloodline and physical body. He later gained the divine ability Endless Dragon Flame from the Divine Ability Pavilion. 45 47 48
Appearance
Ao Lie can assume a human form, but his defining appearance is his evolving dragon true form. His transformations visibly reflect the advancement of his bloodline. 45 77 236
- Initially had white scales, which became gold after his first transformation. 45
- Evolved into a Five-Clawed Golden Dragon after reaching Golden Immortal. 45
- Later manifested a Six-Clawed Golden Dragon bloodline, superior to the Four Seas Dragon Kings. 77
- Became an eight-clawed divine dragon after integrating the Dragon Clan's destiny. 236
Personality
Ao Lie is deeply loyal to both his master and his clan. He remains grateful that Chen Changsheng saved him when the Northern Darkness Palace pursued him, and he resolves to repay his master even with his life. 63 189
The Dragon Clan's decline and the Northern Darkness Palace's aggression give him a strong desire for power, though this resentment once threatened to cloud his judgment. Chen Changsheng cautioned him to remain clear-headed, and Ao Lie accepted the rebuke. 48
He is confident in battle—at the Four Seas competition, he refused all alliances and declared that none of the other competitors were his match. Later, as Dragon Emperor, he showed greater restraint and political judgment by proposing reconciliation with the Phoenix Clan. 70 357
