Background / History

Chen Changsheng transmigrated into the Primordial Era and inherited the position of Changsheng Palace's Sect Leader when his master died, leaving him only the sect token and an almost empty palace. He became the eighteenth-generation Sect Leader despite receiving no cultivation inheritance from his predecessor. 1 310

Upon taking office, he bound with the Strongest Sect Leader System, which makes his cultivation and sect foundations grow through disciple recruitment and advancement. At the time, Changsheng Palace consisted of little more than a single main hall. 2

His first System-guided recruitment was Yang Jian, whom he saved from Heavenly Soldiers pursuing him for Yao Ji's case. Chen used a Grand Unity Golden Immortal Trial Card to kill the pursuers, then accepted Yang Jian as his first disciple. 3

As Changsheng Palace grew, Chen recruited disciples with exceptional fate, granted them access to its pavilions and treasures, and turned the formerly declining sect into a major Saint sect recognized throughout the Primordial Era. 10 365

Appearance

Chen Changsheng is seen in flowing white robes and generally presents himself with a calm, gentle smile, even when his true cultivation cannot be discerned by powerful figures. 241 287

  • White robes — noted during his confrontation with the Western Teachings. 287
  • Unreadable cultivation — even Quasi-Saint Perfection Zhen Yuanzi cannot perceive his realm. 241

Personality

Chen initially regards his position as an unwanted burden, but adapts quickly once he understands that the System gives him a path to survive and build Changsheng Palace. He is pragmatic about strength, often using his hidden resources and trial cards to protect the sect when direct confrontation is unavoidable. 2 3 17

He is highly protective of his disciples and responds harshly to threats against them. He openly declares that anyone seeking to harm a disciple must face his wrath, and he teaches his disciples to retreat for reinforcements rather than stubbornly die in unwinnable fights. 53 191

Despite his power, Chen considers a potential disciple's character and goals before accepting them. He values Di Xin's wish to protect the Human Race, provides his disciples with resources suited to them, and continues to show respect toward the Dao by discussing it seriously with peers such as Sect Master Tongtian. 9 46 306

In unfamiliar worlds, he becomes notably more cautious. After arriving in the Great Profound Fantasy World, he chooses to assess its hierarchy before acting openly. 486
