Background / History

When Qian Xunji accepted Bibi Dong and later Gu Ziyi as disciples, Qian Daoliu assessed their potential personally. He was impressed by Bibi Dong's cultivation and, despite Gu Ziyi's Rank 1 Innate Soul Power, recognized Gu Ziyi's achievements in martial-soul research and his role in resolving Tang Yuehua's inability to cultivate. He urged Qian Xunji to nurture Gu Ziyi carefully. 35 47
At the Worship Hall, Qian Daoliu examined Gu Ziyi's Self-Created Soul Rings. After hearing the method, he concluded that the art had been lost not because it was inherently impossible, but because soul masters had long ceased trying to create rings for themselves. 47
He also concerned himself with the Qian family's continuation, encouraging Qian Xunji to find a suitable partner. When Qian Xunji's daughter was born, Qian Daoliu named her Qian Renxue after sensing the soul power already present within her. 35 47 118
When Qian Xunji became trapped on Sea God Island through an inheritance trial, Qian Daoliu traveled there to retrieve him. He was defeated by Bo Saixi and accepted that Qian Xunji's continued stay was bound to the Sea God's will. Before leaving, he entrusted Gu Ziyi with the Pope Token and temporary management of the Pope's Hall. 137
