Background
Tang San is born as Tang Xiao's son after a difficult three-day labor. He retains memories from a previous life and begins cultivating the Mysterious Heavenly Art during infancy, both to preserve those memories and to exploit the chance to cultivate before awakening a Martial Soul. 125
Tang Chen discovers that Tang San can cultivate despite not having awakened a Martial Soul. Tang San reveals that he is reincarnated from another world and was formerly a member of the Tang Sect, but refuses to disclose its cultivation method because of Tang Sect rules. This revelation creates distance between him and his family; Tang Chen nevertheless instructs Tang Xiao to find a way to obtain the technique. 127
Tang Xiao later persuades Tang San to disclose information about his techniques, then manipulates him into founding a new Tang Sect and teaching the Mysterious Heavenly Art to ten children. Tang Xiao intends to use the sect's methods to strengthen the Clear Sky Sect. 142
Appearance
After using his Divine Sense to avoid the Martial Soul Hall's pursuit, Tang San reshapes himself into the appearance he remembers from his past and gives himself long blue hair. 195
- Wields a Clear Sky Hammer Martial Soul with traces of lightning. 159
- Initially appears with one White and one Yellow Soul Ring. 180 193
- Later conceals his identity behind an altered appearance and two black Ten Thousand Year Soul Rings. 195 196
Personality
Tang San is deeply attached to the Tang Sect's rules and techniques. Even as a child, he refuses to share the Mysterious Heavenly Art because he considers it bound by sect restrictions. 127
He is proud of the Mysterious Heavenly Art and initially cannot accept that it cannot enhance Self-Created Soul Rings. His refusal to abandon the technique creates conflict with his disciples, though he eventually allows them to choose other paths. 160 161
After learning that Tang Xiao intends to appropriate the Tang Sect's methods, Tang San feels betrayed and resolves to protect those techniques at any cost. This hardens into ruthlessness: he poisons the Clear Sky Sect during Tang Yuehua's wedding banquet. 182 190
His search for Xiao Wu becomes his overriding motivation. He postpones divine trials to pursue news of her, attempts to make the present Xiao Wu accept memories from their future together, and continues fighting despite being surrounded by God-level opponents. 218 221 224
