Bibi Dong's twin martial souls attract Pope Qian Xunji's attention immediately after awakening. He accepts her as his disciple and names her Spirit Hall's Saintess in the second year of her apprenticeship. Her upbringing includes personal instruction from Qian Xunji and lessons from other instructors whose cultivation is at least Soul Sage 6 33 36 38.

Gu Ziyi enters this training environment because his Purifying Heart Mantra can accelerate her cultivation. When Qian Xunji also accepts him as a disciple, Bibi Dong initially resents sharing her teacher's attention, but accepts Gu Ziyi as her junior brother.
