In a memory-world witnessed by Lin Xian, Kiki is identified as Zhao Enqi. Her mother, Zhao Lu, unsuccessfully tried to place her in an orphanage when Kiki was a small child; the abandonment, ridicule from staff and children, and her mother’s eventual departure shaped Kiki’s isolation and resentment 79 80. She later escaped the orphanage at age eight, survived through theft and deception, taught herself programming to steal money, and was imprisoned nineteen times 79.

Kiki’s parentage is tied to the wealthy Wen family. Her father is described as Wen, the chairman of Linglong Group and an investor in the Dawn Project, though Kiki was treated coldly as an illegitimate daughter 30 316. She told Lin Xian that her father was dead and that she had nowhere safe to go 24.

Following Apocalypse Day, Kiki boarded a rescue helicopter connected to the Dawn Project.
