Background / History

Spirit Hall and Qian Xunji

Bibi Dong was Qian Xunji's highly valued disciple and fell in love with Yu Xiaogang. When she threatened to leave Spirit Hall to remain with Yu Xiaogang, Qian Xunji sexually assaulted and confined her to prevent her departure. She subsequently gave birth to their daughter, Qian Renxue 22 24 195 225.

She maintained the outward relationship of teacher and disciple with Qian Xunji while secretly seeking revenge. Qian Renxue's existence reminded her of the assault, contributing to her longstanding rejection of her daughter 24 38 225.

Slaughter City

Bibi Dong first appears as a contestant in the Hell Slaughter Arena. Despite the city's restrictions on spirit-ring skills, she overwhelms opponents with her martial soul, Soul Power, poison, and close-range combat 6 7.

After recognizing Mu Ge's self-created skills as a threat, she follows him outside the arena and attacks him. Their initial fight is closely contested, but she is later injured and forced to agree to avoid competing against him 12 13 14 16.

Her relationship with Mu Ge becomes coercive: he seals her Soul Power, humiliates her, and imposes demands before restoring it. She responds by attempting to recruit him into her revenge against Qian Xunji, reasoning that either man's death would benefit her 22 24.

The two eventually traverse the Path to Hell and escape Slaughter City, each obtaining Divine Slaughter's Domain. Once ordinary spirit skills become usable again, Bibi Dong reasserts her authority and requires Mu Ge to conceal his identity before joining Spirit Hall 31 32 36.

Return to Spirit Hall

Bibi Dong introduces Mu Ge to Qian Xunji under the name Hu Ge. He becomes her personal guard, and she supplies him with a Saintess Token before entering seclusion to control her domain's killing intent 38 39 40.

After emerging, she becomes interested in obtaining Ah Yin's 100,000-year spirit ring. She later tells Qian Xunji that Hu Ge likely took Ah Yin and proposes the false public account that Mu Ge murdered Master Hu Ge. The announcement destroys Mu Ge's public identity while preserving Spirit Hall's reputation 99 104 105.

Her frustration grows as searches fail to locate Mu Ge or Ah Yin. She also resents the Soul Master's Cultivation Manual for increasing the prestige of the Spirit Hall she wishes to destroy 133.

Papal Succession and the Ninth Ring

After reaching level 90, Bibi Dong asks Qian Xunji to help secure a high-quality ninth spirit ring. When Tang Hao severely injures him, she pursues his group with the intention of killing him herself 178 184 185.

Following Qian Xunji's death, she gains access to the Rakshasa Secret Realm but initially prioritizes control of Spirit Hall over its first trial. Qian Daoliu then nominates her as Pope, and the assembled leadership accepts her succession 185 190.

During her renewed ninth-ring hunt, Mu Ge ambushes and subdues her. He uses the location of a 100,000-year Death Spider Emperor to coerce her cooperation. She subsequently hunts the beast with Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo, obtaining its ring, two arm bones, and the Undying Body skill 194 195 196.

Qian Renxue and the Dream World

Bibi Dong initially shows a fleeting tenderness toward Qian Renxue's letters, but references to Qian Xunji and Mu Ge rekindle her anger. After securing the papal throne, she visits her daughter through the Dream World specifically to reveal that her earlier affection was an act and to reject being called her mother 202 215 216.

Mu Ge and Qian Renxue later arrange a deception involving his transformation into a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. During the encounter, Bibi Dong initially remains cold even when her daughter appears to be swallowed. By the Heavenly Ranking arc, however, the mother and daughter are explicitly described as reconciled 220 222 225 242.

Bibi Dong also competes in the Dream World, securing fourth place on the Heavenly Ranking to gain Enlightenment Time and improve her familiarity with her second martial soul's skills 242.

Partnership with Mu Ge and Xi Qian's Birth

After another failed attack on Mu Ge, Bibi Dong discovers that she is pregnant with his child. She agrees to become his partner on three conditions: he must obtain 100,000-year rings for her second martial soul, help destroy the Angel Clan except Qian Renxue, and assist her in unifying Douluo Continent 249 252.

Mu Ge argues that Qian Daoliu should remain alive because of his importance to Qian Renxue's divine inheritance. As they hunt together, Bibi Dong grows more affectionate, although her desire to kill Mu Ge has not disappeared completely 252 256 257.

She completes her second martial soul's rings, reaches level 98, and gives birth to their daughter, Xi Qian. Determined to cherish this child rather than repeat her treatment of Qian Renxue, she returns to Spirit Hall to raise Xi Qian herself 258 259.

Founding the Spirit Hall Empire

With Mu Ge's support, Bibi Dong openly challenges Qian Daoliu's opposition to establishing an empire. She also seeks Qian Renxue's return from her undercover mission so that her daughter's talent can be devoted to cultivation 276 277 278.

She personally welcomes Qian Renxue home, embraces her warmly, and thanks the elders who protected her. Meanwhile, she orders the captured Yu Xiaogang sent into Slaughter City without meeting him or expressing concern for his survival 280.

Bibi Dong establishes the Spirit Hall Empire, becoming its first ruler and the first Empress in history. She disregards the protests of Heaven Dou and Star Luo and proceeds with expansion 284.

Revenge drives much of her early conduct. Her hatred extends beyond Qian Xunji to the Angel Clan and Spirit Hall itself, while repeated coercion by Mu Ge creates another lasting grudge. Her later agreement with Mu Ge is therefore initially pragmatic rather than wholehearted acceptance 133 185 252.

Her maternal behavior changes substantially. She moves from rejecting Qian Renxue to explicitly protecting her from her revenge plans, welcoming her home, and valuing her future cultivation.
