Words of Wisdom Shake Central Province; New Book, Please Favorite
At the Heaven Worship Hall.
Lu Changsheng finished his salute.
He raised his head and looked at Great Luo's hundred thousand disciples.
For a moment, an indescribable feeling filled him.
Everyone's eyes brimmed with anticipation.
They were waiting for Lu Changsheng's investiture declaration.
Very soon, Lu Changsheng's voice rang out.
"Fifteen thousand years ago, the Great Luo Founder established the Great Luo Holy Land with his frail body."
"Twelve thousand years ago, demons ravaged the south, and devils emerged from the Eastern Land. In that era, darkness shrouded all."
"Yet the Founder held a Great Luo Immortal Sword in his hand, pacified the chaos under heaven, slew the devils of the world, and made the Great Luo Holy Land renowned throughout the land in one stroke."
"Ten thousand years ago, the Founder ascended to the Immortal Realm, leaving behind four words for our Great Luo Holy Land."
"Strive unceasingly for self-improvement."
Lu Changsheng spoke, his voice like a great bell, allowing every disciple to hear him.
A formation was amplifying it.
When Qingyun Daoist heard Lu Changsheng's words, his expression could not help changing slightly. He realized that Lu Changsheng did not seem to be following his script.
Yet all the disciples listened intently.
No one dared to let their mind wander.
"Today, I, Lu Changsheng, as Great Luo's Eldest Senior Brother, shall also leave behind four words."
"Heaven Rewards Diligence."
Lu Changsheng spoke those four words.
"The world says that cultivating immortality is difficult, harder than climbing to the blue heavens."
"Yet I believe."
"When Heaven is about to confer a great responsibility upon a man, it must first afflict his heart and will, toil his sinews and bones, starve his flesh and skin, empty his body, and frustrate and disorder all he does. Thus it moves his heart, toughens his nature, and increases what he cannot do."
Lu Changsheng's words were impassioned and stirring, directly borrowing Mencius's famous words to inspire the disciples.
A declaration was, in essence, meant to display one's own extraordinariness while encouraging the disciples, achieving unity from top to bottom.
Since it was meant to encourage them, this passage from Mencius was simply perfect.
At the very least, it was ten thousand times better than the cringeworthy declaration Qingyun Daoist had given him.
Yet at this moment, Lu Changsheng had not noticed the strange change taking place between Heaven and Earth.
Above his head.
Clusters of golden clouds appeared. They were Auspicious Merit Clouds, something that would only appear after accomplishing a heaven-shaking act of merit.
The hundred thousand disciples stared at the phenomenon behind Lu Changsheng in utter astonishment.
They found it unbelievable!
"Gasp! Auspicious Merit Clouds, Auspicious Merit Clouds—they're actually Auspicious Merit Clouds!"
"Headmaster, those are Auspicious Merit Clouds!"
"What happened? Why did Nephew Lu draw forth Auspicious Merit Clouds?"
"Words of wisdom, words of wisdom indeed! Qingyun, you've taken in a fine disciple!"
"Who would have thought this nephew could speak such words of wisdom?"
"When Heaven is about to confer a great responsibility upon a man—those are sage words, acknowledged by Heaven and Earth, bearing the merit of enlightening all cultivators in the world."
Upon the elders' platform, Great Luo's upper echelon all revealed incomparably shocked expressions. Looking at those clusters of Auspicious Merit Clouds, they were shaken again and again.
And atop the Heaven Worship Hall.
Lu Changsheng remained completely unaware that his words had already brought forth a heavenly phenomenon.
He only saw everyone looking at him with astonished eyes, and could not help letting out a breath of relief.
Looks like I bluffed them.
Thinking this, Lu Changsheng continued his declaration. Since everyone liked listening so much, he might as well say a few more lines.
"As the saying goes, Heaven gives every man talents that must be put to use."
"The edge of a treasured sword comes from grinding; the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from bitter cold."
"As long as everyone works diligently, one day they will be able to scale the highest peaks."
"The sages say: the path of immortality is vague and illusory."
"Yet I say: with enlightenment at dawn, one may walk the path beneath heaven; with a heart of kindness, one may aid the world."
"The sages say: on the path of immortality, act according to one's strength."
"Yet I say: where there is will, there is a way; Heaven will not fail those who toil with all their heart."
Fortunately, Lu Changsheng had been a liberal arts student. His mind held quite a few poems and verses like these, and at this moment, he drew upon them as effortlessly as plucking them from his sleeve.
Sentence after sentence of wisdom came from Lu Changsheng's mouth.
At this moment.
Golden Auspicious Merit Clouds covered the entire Great Luo Holy Land.
Lu Changsheng was still utterly unaware, and as he went on, he grew increasingly impassioned.
He no longer cared whether they were words of encouragement or not. As long as they rolled off the tongue, he recited them outright.
"One day I shall ride the wind and break the waves—who under heaven will not know my name?"
"The road ahead is long and far; I shall search high and low."
"After a hundred battles in yellow sands, armor pierced through; until Loulan is broken, I shall not return."
"One day the great roc shall rise with the wind, soaring ninety thousand miles straight into the heavens."
"A menial servant today, a headmaster tomorrow."
"Do not idle away your days, lest your youthful head turn white."
"Tipsy with inspiration, my brush shakes the Five Sacred Mountains; when the poem is done, I laugh proudly over the vast blue sea."
All manner of verses flowed from Lu Changsheng's mouth.
In an instant.
Lotuses blossomed from Lu Changsheng's mouth, while golden lotuses surged from the earth. Golden radiance enveloped the Great Luo Holy Land, and streams of merit descended from the heavens, falling upon Lu Changsheng.
At this moment, Lu Changsheng felt warm all over. He paid it no mind, merely thinking that he had spoken too passionately and his body had grown a little hot.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
At this moment.
Central Continent Holy Palace.
This was the sacred ground of Confucian sages.
Statues of Confucian sages bloomed with boundless light at this moment, alarming all directions.
"When Heaven is about to confer a great responsibility upon a man, it must first afflict his heart and will, toil his sinews and bones, starve his flesh and skin, empty his body, and frustrate and disorder all he does. Thus it moves his heart, toughens his nature, and increases what he cannot do."

"The edge of a treasured sword comes from grinding; the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from bitter cold."
"Heaven gives every man talents that must be put to use."
"One day the great roc shall rise with the wind, soaring ninety thousand miles straight into the heavens."
Ancient statues gave forth the resonant voices of sages.
At this moment, within the Holy Palace, a great Confucian scholar of the present age could not help revealing a shocked expression upon hearing such voices.
"These are sage words."
"Who could speak such sage words?"
"Will our human race produce another Literary Sage?"
He was utterly shaken.
It was not only the Holy Palace.
The entirety of Central Province was like a great earthquake had struck.
Such a terrifying heavenly phenomenon naturally drew the attention of countless experts.
Central Province's Sun Moon Dynasty.
Within the imperial palace.
A middle-aged man wreathed in purple qi gazed toward the northwest.
"Words of sages... will the human race produce a Literary Sage?"
Central Province's Starry Sacred Ground.
Within the Hall of Stars.
An old man gazed toward the northwest and could not help saying in astonishment.
"The Great Luo Holy Land already has a Void Immortal. Who would have thought it would also have a Literary Sage?"
Central Province, Heaven's Secret Sect.
Tianji Zi looked toward the northwest, pinched his fingers in calculation, then said with a face full of regret, "I calculated wrongly, I calculated wrongly. This person is far more than a cultivation prodigy—he is the reincarnation of a sage! A sage within and a king without; he is both a cultivation genius and a future Literary Sage."
At the border of Central Province.
A monk watched the changes in Heaven and Earth.
His gaze was incomparably calm, and he did not say a word.
At this moment, Central Province was in turmoil.
All sides stirred like clouds in motion.
And within the Great Luo Holy Land.
Lu Changsheng remained utterly unaware. He had not even noticed the nine halos appearing behind his head.
He continued chattering away.
Until the time it took an incense stick to burn.
