Background / History
Lu Changsheng transmigrated into the Immortal Cultivation World. For three years, he cultivated and meditated without interruption yet remained “utterly ordinary” in cultivation; he therefore resolved to seek another path to immortality through alchemy, artifact refinement, or formations. He ultimately focused on pill refinement to establish himself as Great Luo Holy Land’s Eldest Senior Brother. 4 5
He was formally invested as Great Luo’s Eldest Senior Brother during the sect’s ceremony. Wearing the Azure Cloud Qilin Robe, crossing a rainbow bridge, and receiving the Great Luo Ancient Token, he became the public face and leading disciple of the Holy Land. 12 13
His reputation rapidly extended beyond Daoist cultivation. The Literary Star moved nine times for him, marking aptitude associated with a true literary saint; the Sun Moon, Great Zhou, and Great Qian dynasties honored him as Literary Saint and Imperial Tutor. His brief guidance also enabled Li Zheng to comprehend the Dao and become a Heaven and Earth Great Confucian. 16
After traveling through the Central Continent, Lu Changsheng became renowned for his sword manifestations, literary standing, pill refinement, and apparently unfathomable cultivation. Following his ascension to the Immortal Realm, he adopted the title “Lu Heavenly Emperor” and steadily rose from a cautious newly ascended Great Ascension cultivator into a figure recognized across the Six Realms. 98 99 295 360
He later assumed responsibility for the Six Realms, delegated tasks to establish order, convened the Myriad Realms Assembly, and settled the great vows and karmic obligations he had made in the Lower Realm and Buddha World. 472 483 487
Appearance
Lu Changsheng is repeatedly described as impossibly handsome, refined, and otherworldly—often compared to a banished immortal or a peerless immortal descended into the mortal world. His bearing combines scholarly elegance, Daoist nobility, and an overwhelming Great Dao aura. 13 69 175 254
- Usually wears azure, green-and-white, or white robes; his Azure Cloud Qilin Robe is embroidered with a qilin offering auspiciousness. 13 175 306
- Has a jade-like face, long hair often tied with cyan cloth, and a gentle, polished demeanor. 175 306
- Is frequently surrounded by yin-yang energy, literary aura, Great Dao light, or manifested phenomena. 13 16 178
- Rides the Black Yellow Qilin on major public appearances. 175 178
- Uses a mask while traveling in the Immortal Realm to avoid attention; it later shatters under the pressure of his Immortal Power. 366 370
Personality
Lu Changsheng presents himself as humble, courteous, and composed even when treated as an unmatched genius. He returns salutes from literary scholars, treats prominent figures respectfully, and avoids arrogantly relying on his fame. 69 106 178 483
Privately, he is cautious about his actual realm and survival prospects. He prepares pills, weapons, and contingencies before dangerous journeys, and he often judges situations by whether he can safely handle them rather than by reputation alone. 34 44 295 383
He values loyalty and repayment. He remains concerned for Qingyun Daoist after ascending, helps allies advance, seeks to settle his vast karmic debts, and risks opposing powerful enemies to aid friends. 258 366 461 487
His outwardly transcendent image contrasts with a dry, self-aware inner voice. He is frequently bewildered by the world’s exaggerated assumptions about him, including titles, rumors, and feats attributed to him. 93 121 306 384
