Two Million Words: Thoughts (A Little Easter Egg and Remedy Ideas at the End)
In the blink of an eye, the book has already surpassed two million words.
The book was officially released on September 10th last year, which means it will be officially one year old in just ten days.
It just so happens to be the end of August, so I thought I'd write a separate chapter as a summary and also to chat a bit.
Here's a table of contents to help you jump to the parts you're interested in (of course, I'd prefer you read the whole thing):
I. Remarks and Acknowledgements
II. Regarding the establishment of a "supporting character" thread in the book review section
Third, let's brainstorm and collect everyone's ideas.
IV. Some random thoughts
V. August Summary and Outlook
VI. Bonus Scene at the End
VII. Apology and remedial measures.
I. Remarks and Acknowledgements (This section might be a bit long-winded, haha, please forgive me.)
I'm posting this as a separate chapter to share some good news—after today's update, the book has officially surpassed two million words!!!
Even by the standards of online novels, a book with over two million words should be considered a long novel.
Thank you so much for your continued support and companionship!
It is thanks to your support and encouragement that this book has come this far.
.
Looking back, when it was first released, the goal was to add 200 extra chapters for the first subscription.
At first, I actually wanted to say 300, but after thinking about it, I felt it was unrealistic, so in the end I didn't dare to set it that high.
At that time, the system of requiring full attendance at the Qidian had not yet been reformed.
So I was thinking, it would be great if we could get 200 subscriptions.
If I work hard like this for three months, I have a chance to reach 500 average subscriptions and win the full attendance bonus.
As a result, a whopping 367 book lovers showed up that day.
Almost double the initial target!
It really surprised me.
But frankly, even at that time, I never dared to imagine that this book would one day become a masterpiece.
It has even managed to accumulate over two million words, as it is now.
At that time, my biggest ambition was to achieve 500 average subscriptions, which would be considered a success!
Honestly!
Since the book was released, my reading volume has been gradually decreasing (actually, it's not high now, as readers who have been following it should be able to see).
The period when I was reading this book the least was around the end of November and the beginning of December last year.
I can still remember that the lowest number of reads was on December 2nd.
A total of 141 readers followed the latest chapter updated that day.
Doesn't it look like quite a lot?
However, when it was first released, the number of reads was 428!
428-141=287
In other words, on the surface, it seems that in just one month, more than half of the readers (more than two-thirds) chose to leave.
Of course, looking back now, it was actually after the key point of breaking through to the Foundation Establishment was written that everyone was busy reading the book.
But I didn't know that at the time.
Judging from the continuously declining data, this book seems to be doomed!
It's terrifying, you know?
I was actually very anxious during that period, and I had to check the data several times a day.
It was from that time that the book's update schedule began to become increasingly chaotic and was constantly delayed.
The biggest problem is actually a lack of self-confidence.
As I wrote, I started to doubt whether there were any problems with the plot.
As I continued writing, I began to doubt my word choice and sentence structure. Perhaps I should use more idioms?
(Back then, my understanding of writing style was limited to ornate language, although even now I can only write in plain language...)
Looking back now, we shouldn't have been so busy with internal strife.
I would also like to thank my editor, Wu Shu.
Around this time last August, he gave me very important advice (the specific process could even be discussed in a separate chapter, otherwise it wouldn't be enough to illustrate it).
Also, promptly reporting recommendations after the book was released helped it receive its first recommendation in December.
It was from that trendsetter that this book began to be discovered by more and more readers.
Meanwhile, the above-average performance in the recommended positions has given me a lot of confidence.
Tell me this book has potential; it may not reach huge sales, but it will definitely sell more than just a few hundred copies.
In fact, many readers only came after the book reached a certain word count. (This seems to be the case for most fantasy novels; there aren't many readers before a million words, even though mine is considered a work of imagination.)
I had originally written a long paragraph, but it felt a bit pretentious during the proofreading.
So I simply deleted them all; I won't go into details here.
all in all:
Thank you so much to all the readers for your continued support and companionship. It is through your combined efforts that this book has come to be!
Many thanks to Wu Shu for his guidance and help before I started writing this book!
.
II. Regarding the "Extra Building"
I've been thinking about starting a thread in the comments section for minor characters, and then selecting some of them to appear in the show.
It'll also help cure my naming problem.
I first came up with this idea at the beginning of this year, which is several months ago.
But I've always been a bit anxious about gains and losses.
I'm worried that no one will come, which would be a bit awkward.
I was worried that everyone was too enthusiastic and replied with many characters, but I couldn't assign them to any of the storylines.
However, after thinking about it for a while, I feel that I was probably overthinking it.
But to prevent everyone from being disappointed later, I must give you a heads-up beforehand.
That means everything still revolves around the plot.
When leaving comments, whether you just leave a name or provide detailed information such as gender, cultivation level, and character traits, please feel free to share.
I can't even guarantee that it will be adopted.
It's even uncertain how many will actually be used.
In other words:
There's a high chance that many characters won't appear in the story until the series ends!
There's a high chance that many characters won't appear in the story until the series ends!
There's a high chance that many characters won't appear in the story until the series ends!!!
P. S.: Theoretically speaking, the more detailed the character's backstory, the harder it is for them to appear in a
Having only one name is the easiest to arrange, but it's very likely that things won't go as planned.
I've been struggling with this for a while.
But I don't want to think about it anymore; I'll leave it to you to decide.
.
Third, let's brainstorm and collect everyone's ideas.
I saw many well-informed suggestions in the book review section.
Actually, I had previously asked for more Hextech in my launch message.
But this time is different.
I'll stop pretending and be blunt—I want to copy book reviews and chapter comments.
If you have any good ideas or interesting creative concepts, please leave a message here.
I will come here regularly to check the paragraph comments and the chapter notes for this chapter (mainly because they are not easy to find or summarize elsewhere).
Of course, it would be ideal to have more Hextech Enhancement.
Especially the Mechanism Type and more interesting Hextech Enhancement.
That would be perfect!
IV. Some random thoughts
First, let's talk about the random thoughts in this post. It's written rather casually, filled with all sorts of personal Visualization Method and nonsense.
1. Regarding updates.
Actually, many times, I also have grand ambitions before going to sleep, thinking that I must achieve 10,000 points tomorrow!
But on the second day, they failed repeatedly.
To paraphrase a meme: intermittent bursts of ambition, followed by a continuous period of complacency and idleness.
I really want to write 30,000 words a day and collect the money in sacks.
The problem is, I sit in front of the computer, racking my brains, but I just can't write anything! Sigh!
2. Regarding Chapter 234.
I know I've already said it, but I really want to recommend Chapter 234 again.
Because many readers are skipping around (there are readers who have left comments in over 300 chapters but still have the "trainee" badge).
While you can skip other chapters, I strongly recommend subscribing to chapters 234.
Su Li makes her appearance in this chapter.
Moreover, I actually put a lot of thought into the design, conceiving a completely different dual perspective from chapter 234 to chapter 237.
Therefore, I strongly advise against skipping these chapters!
It would be even better if you could leave a comment.
3. Regarding the mathematical calculations in the book.
As some astute readers may have already noticed, my mathematical abilities are rather limited.
I originally thought that although my math wasn't very good, I should have no problem with basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You can also clearly distinguish between area and volume.
However... please bear with me. If you find any mistakes in my calculations, please leave a comment in the paragraph review or chapter comments section, and I will correct them promptly.
P. S.: That darn math is still hunting me down!
4. Regarding character illustrations.
I've used AI to generate some character images myself, but to be honest, I'm not satisfied with the results.
If you're interested, feel free to post some pictures in the comments section.
You can post any character with a name.
If you have any good pictures, you can feature them.
If there are a lot of likes, you can also add a character card specifically for him.
5. Regarding the levels of Cultivation Method.
It's actually about the question of the universe being mysterious and chaotic.
I have already planned a new setting to replace Heaven, Earth, Black and Yellow. If the new setting is ultimately adopted, it is expected to appear in the next Major Realm.
Since there are already Cultivation Method, there's definitely no need to introduce new settings before a breakthrough.
However, I'm still a bit conflicted.
Some readers have previously suggested other solutions.
For example, it can expand the coverage of Hextech effects.
For example, we could continue using the terms "heaven and earth, black and yellow," and then define it as merely a dividing standard.
(Speaking of which, looking back, I really dug a hole for myself. If the name wasn't "Heaven and Earth, Black and Yellow" but rather "Low Grade," "Middle Grade," "High Grade," or "Top Grade," it would be obvious at a glance, and there would be no controversy.)
For example, you could create a hodgepodge of Heaven-Grade Technique, which is a combination of many Yellow-grade Technique. This way, you can benefit from the bonuses of Featherweight-level techniques while also having the strength of Heaven-level techniques.
So what's my biggest dilemma right now?
For those of you who have already read this far, do you still care about this detail?
The current situation is this: it seems that readers who dislike this setting have already abandoned the book.
(Looking back at the comments from that time, the book's reputation among readers almost all remained at the level of apprentice and disciple.)
Therefore, those who remain are likely readers who are more tolerant, or rather, can accept this setting.
Then I was afraid that if I made changes blindly, I might drive away all the readers who are still here (that would be too much).
If that's the case, it's better to leave it as it is.
To avoid affecting readers who are already used to the original setting or don't mind it.
What do you all think about this?
6. About QQ groups.
I feel there's no need for that right now. Everyone can express their opinions in the paragraph comments or chapter notes.
Aside from the inconvenience of sending emojis, it's almost no different from chatting in a group.
The key point is that this also adds a chapter summary to the book.
Actually, judging from the number of chapters mentioned in the latest month, you can probably tell that this book isn't very popular...
If we create another group to distribute the comments, the already limited number of comments for this chapter will probably be even less.
That would mean you're competing with yourself for traffic.
Don't do that.
.
V. August Summary and Outlook
It's quite a coincidence that today marks the completion of two million words, and it also happens to be the last day of August.
This is actually quite a good place to share some thoughts.
My overall impressions have already been given above.
As for August specifically, well... it can basically be summed up in two words: "Not bad."
The long-running storyline of the Sea Race Invasion has finally come to an end.
This means that the Compassion Sea has returned to calm.
Although a strange phenomenon and an auction were left behind, these were minor subplots.
The next developments are bound to be a new storyline.
As mentioned in the main text, one should return to the Storm Sea at the Nascent Soul Realm.
While settling scores and seeking revenge, it can also be considered a triumphant return home.
Speaking of which, there are quite a few named characters over there.
It's time to let them get out and move around.
Of course, according to the timeline in the book, several years have passed, and they have naturally undergone new changes.
Furthermore, the large number of rogue cultivators who fled to the Storm Sea due to pressure from the Sea Race, the powerful forces like the Jade Leaf Commerce Association, and the fire seeds sent by various sects in the Compassion Sea will all cause changes to the original structure of the Storm Sea.
In addition, the Vast Sea Secret Realm, which we prepared long ago, is also ready to be visited.
This is a special Secret Realm that is basically attended by Nascent Soul True Lord, and it connects cultivators from several domains.
In theory, this should be a key focus going forward.
Anyway, that's the current outline.
As for the New Cultivation World...
The long-awaited Immortal Selection Festival will be a watershed moment.
Before that, there was an exploratory phase.
After that, it was time to get deeply involved in all sorts of upheavals.
Well... anyway, that's the current outline.
Well.
Oh dear, I don't know what to say.
I think I've already written quite a bit, and if I keep rambling on, everyone might get tired of reading.
That's settled then.
Thank you again for your support!

VI. Bonus Scene at the End
When writing Chapter 341, when Xiao Chen and Su Li were sharing the Spirit Beast Egg.
When the original text read "swallowed it whole, shell and all," there was a further section.
I've even forgotten why I deleted it in the first place.
The original text is as follows:
(Omitted the previous events, Xiao Chen swallowed the Spirit Beast Egg in his hand, shell and all.)
"Pfft!"
Su Li couldn't help but chuckle at his actions and handed him the Spirit Beast Egg in her hand, "If you don't have enough, have some more?"
Xiao Chen waved his hand, "No need, I've had enough."
"And the reason I eat the eggshells isn't because I don't have enough, but simply to avoid wasting spiritual resources."
"Think about it, after the Spirit Beast hatch, won't they fight over and eat their own eggs and even the eggs of other little Spirit Beast?"
"What does that mean? It means that if you eat the eggshell and can absorb its nutrients, it can be beneficial."
"Since I Body Refining and spirit, absorbing the eggshell is naturally a piece of cake."
Upon hearing this, Su Li suddenly realized, "Oh, I see."
So others followed suit, grabbing the Spirit Beast Egg and eating them all in the same way.
However, she was clearly not used to it, so she chewed for quite a while with her cheeks puffed out.

VII. Apology and Remedial Measures
Sorry, I'm a pig!
I was so caught up in my sentimentality that I forgot to switch to the reflection section.
Qidian learning platform) won't allow the deletion of VIP chapters, which is really bad news.
It's Sunday, and it's already 11 PM. I don't even have time to contact the editor.
More than ten readers have already subscribed since the book was just released. I'm sorry for wasting your points (I checked, and there are already 27 subscribers).
I came up with a temporary workaround, but I don't know if everyone will accept it.
The Qidian allows users to correct typos.
Then, after I finish writing the new 6,000 words tomorrow, I will replace the content of the previous chapter with them and change the title.
Subscribed readers can refresh the page to see tomorrow's chapter.
It's like everyone pre-ordered tomorrow's chapter (sorry, I really didn't mean to...).
The problem is that I can't think of a good solution right now.
So, do you guys think this remedy is feasible?
.
The problem is I don't have any drafts on hand right now, otherwise I would have just replaced them with the following text.
Today shouldn't have turned out like this. I'm sorry, I'm such a pig!
It was supposed to be a memorable day, but this blunder happened. I'm so annoyed.
Sorry, I'm a pig!
