Within the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains in the north of the Primordial Land, the Resentment of Chaos Gods and Demons gathered madly from every direction like black mist. It contained endless destructive power, and wherever it passed, space faintly twisted and groaned as though in pain.
At the far northern edge of the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains lay a terrifying region blanketed in ice and snow year-round and shrouded in darkness. Countless powerful and savage Fierce Beasts were born there, their enormous bodies hideous and fearsome. Some had three heads, each with a gaping maw and blade-like fangs. Some were covered in hard scales that gleamed with an eerie light, as though they could devour all illumination. Others possessed enormous wings that could blot out the sky, each flap stirring up fierce gales.
Affected and corroded by the resentful energy left behind by the Chaos Gods and Demons, these Fierce Beasts developed the desire to destroy the Primordial Wilderness and restore Hundun. Great numbers of Fierce Beasts began pouring out from the far north.
Like a black flood, they surged toward every corner of the Primordial Land. Wherever they went, only devastation and ruin remained. Their thick limbs trampled the earth, crushing once-fertile land into fragments. Their sharp claws tore through trees, sending towering ancient woods crashing down. Their blazing flames scorched mountains and rivers, turning once-beautiful landscapes into charred wastelands.
Forests once brimming with life became silent ruins in the blink of an eye. Trees were uprooted, flowers and grass burned to ash, and Primordial World Beings fled in every direction, yet still struggled to escape the Fierce Beasts' pursuit. Rivers were polluted, their waters turning black and foul. No fish swam within them, nor did clear ripples remain. Mountain ranges were destroyed, peaks collapsed, boulders tumbled down, and the entire land trembled.
The Innate Races, whether the mighty Dragon Race, the dignified Phoenix Race, or the mysterious Kirin Race, had no choice but to avoid the oncoming tide of Fierce Beasts. Even if they possessed great strength and could engage the Fierce Beasts in fierce battle, perhaps even achieve victory in the end.
After the battle, however, the land would already have been corroded by the evil aura and contaminating power of the Fierce Beasts. The soil became barren, water sources became poisonous, and the air filled with the stench of death. Such places were utterly unsuitable for the Innate Races to continue surviving and reproducing. Moreover, there were simply too many Fierce Beasts for any single race to withstand.
The Fierce Beasts knew only destruction. Unless they were killed, they could not be stopped. Even if one wave was halted, more Fierce Beasts would follow, leaving the Innate Races exhausted from constant defense and unable to stop them at all. The Fierce Beasts of this era were far too powerful. Aside from the relatively stronger races, most Innate Races had little fighting strength beyond their respective Clan Leaders and could only retreat.
The Innate Races could only watch helplessly as the Fierce Beasts ravaged the Primordial Land, their hearts filled with helplessness and fury as they swept across the world. During the retreat, some weaker races began drawing close to stronger ones in search of protection. Gradually, the Innate Races formed alliances to resist the Fierce Beasts, fighting as they retreated and slowing the destruction of the Primordial Wilderness.
The Innate Races lived throughout this vast and boundless world like dazzling stars. Every one of them possessed unique and powerful abilities, and their very existence was the manifested embodiment of some aspect of the laws of heaven and earth.
The powerful figures among the Innate Races were like pioneers upon the path of cultivation, constantly exploring, fighting, and exchanging knowledge in this world. They fought the Fierce Beasts to verify their own paths while creating all manner of divine abilities in the process, helping heaven and earth organize and wield its laws.
During this long and arduous process of exploration and battle, the powerful figures of the Innate Races gradually noticed a wondrous phenomenon. Whenever they used their extraordinary strength to slay those vicious Fierce Beasts that ravaged the world, a mysterious and sacred power seemed to descend from the unseen. That power was faint and elusive, like a wisp of morning mist in the mountains, gently enveloping them.
This was Merit from heaven and earth. Although the Merit gained from killing Fierce Beasts each time was extremely slight and offered little benefit to experts like them, it also reduced the influence of the Resentment of Chaos Gods and Demons after the Fierce Beasts died. Their thoughts became sharper, and things they had previously failed to comprehend gradually came to them. The powerful figures of the Innate Races all discovered this secret.

They understood that even such minute Merit, if accumulated persistently, could bring about tremendous change. Like tiny streams converging to form a surging river, or bricks piled endlessly together to build a towering structure, they knew that by continuously killing Ferocious Beasts and gathering small amounts into a great whole, this seemingly insignificant Merit would surely bring them unimaginable benefits in the future.
During this war between the Ferocious Beasts and the races of the Primordial Wilderness, no one knew how much time passed before the Innate Races discovered that the Ferocious Beasts coming to attack had grown much weaker. The powerful Ferocious Beasts had vanished without a trace. Though they did not know why, the pressure upon them had eased, allowing opportunities for the younger members of their clans to train. The experts of each race also began entering seclusion one after another to comprehend their gains.
The years of the Primordial Wilderness were vast and boundless. The river of time flowed slowly like an endless sea of stars, and no one could count how many springs, summers, autumns, and winters had passed. Everything between heaven and earth silently gestated and changed.
Wuyi Mountain stood lofty and majestic. Clouds and mist curled around its slopes, immortal aura lingering in the air as though it were a paradise in the Human World. Countless Blessed Lands were scattered throughout the mountain, each containing the spiritual essence of heaven and earth, like treasures painstakingly carved by nature.
Within one exceptionally hidden Blessed Land lay a clear Lotus Pond. Its surface was as still as a mirror, reflecting the surrounding green mountains and trees like an exquisite painting. White lotuses bloomed in profusion throughout the pond, their jade-white petals shimmering softly beneath the sunlight and releasing waves of elegant fragrance that filled the entire Blessed Land. Every white lotus seemed like a living elf, gently swaying in the breeze with countless graceful poses.
At the center of those countless white lotuses, a twelve-petaled white lotus bloomed quietly. Within it, a hazy figure flickered in and out of sight. The figure seemed shrouded in a faint halo, vaguely giving off an otherworldly air.
That figure was the protagonist of our story—Zhou Jun. Within the Lotus Pond of Wuyi Mountain, drawing upon the spiritual energy of the twelve-petaled white lotus and the essence of heaven and earth, he had undergone countless ages of nurturing, cultivation, and enlightenment. At last, he had reached the critical moment of taking form and entering the world.
At that moment, Zhou Jun rested within the heart of the twelve-petaled white lotus, quietly sensing the power surging through his body. He could clearly feel every cell within him cheering, as though welcoming a brand-new beginning. All manner of marvelous scenes flashed through his mind—insights into the great truths of heaven and earth and mysterious laws he had comprehended during his long cultivation.
Zhou Jun gently closed his eyes, drew a deep breath, and slowly mobilized the spiritual energy within him, attempting to break through the final shackle. Spiritual energy surged around his body like tides, releasing soft howls. The twelve-petaled white lotus seemed to sense his determination as well, blooming with even more dazzling light and wrapping tightly around him.
Suddenly, an intense radiance burst from the twelve-petaled white lotus, illuminating the entire Blessed Land. Within that light, Zhou Jun's figure gradually became clear. He slowly opened his eyes, bright and resolute light gleaming within them. His body was tall and straight, his features handsome and refined, and his long black hair drifted in the wind. He seemed like an immortal cast down into the Human World.
Zhou Jun slowly stepped out of the twelve-petaled white lotus and walked upon the surface of the Lotus Pond as though it were solid ground. He slowly made his way to the pond's edge, lowered his head to look at his reflection, and nodded in satisfaction. "As expected of something nurtured by Innate Gods and Demons. Not a single one is ugly. Birth really does decide everything!"
