Background / History

Resentment left by chaotic gods and demons gathered within the mountains, corrupting powerful northern beasts into Ferocious Beasts. Their rampage devastated the Primordial Land, forced the Dragon, Phoenix, and Kirin races into retreat, and made the mountains the central battlefield of the Ferocious Beast Tribulation. 3 70

By the time Di Kun arrived to repair the region, its earth veins were severely damaged, its rhythm of heaven and earth had faded, and it stood near becoming a permanent dead land. He gathered broken mountain and river veins as repair materials, connected the range’s earth veins, and temporarily suppressed the buried resentment. 72 73

During the tribulation’s final battle, Di Kun completed the range’s leyline network and reshaped its Ancestral Vein. The restored earth veins generated mountains, canyons, rivers, and new terrain; Di Kun’s consciousness temporarily acted as the will of the northern mountains, rewarding those who purified and replanted the devastated land. 76 78

After the Beast Calamity, Di Kun moved the Primordial Life Tree and Elves into the mountains. The tree was linked to the Ancestral Vein as the region’s Spokesperson, while the Earth Dragon Clan, Elves, and other Earth Dao practitioners restored the environment and developed its settlements. 79 92

To conceal this recovery, Di Kun created a barrier and used corpse-filled desolate mountains at the border to project an image of lingering Resentful Energy and Sha Qi. Outsiders who entered were often lost, injured, or unable to return, leading the wider Primordial Land to regard the range as a forbidden land. 79 93 120

The mountains were eventually connected to the wider Primordial Land through earth-vein bridges crossing the Bottomless Fissure. This completed a crucial connection in the Primordial Land’s Earthly Dao and allowed explorers to enter. 122 123

Appearance

The Hundred Thousand Great Mountains are a vast northern mountain system shaped by interconnected Earth Veins. Its restored interior is rich in life, creative spiritual energy, and Dao charm, while its former borderlands were marked by the Bottomless Fissure and dangerous desolate mountains. 92 123 124

The Elf race became the mountains’ principal administrators and spokespeople, supported by Di Kun and the Primordial Life Ancient Tree. Their civilization integrated the region’s resources and developed the Civilization Stone Tablet into a record representing the entire mountain range. 104

The region developed professions ahead of the rest of the Primordial Land, including Spirit Planter Masters, Alchemy Masters, and Artifact Refiner Masters. Its abundant resources and integrated development also enabled inhabitants to refine weapons from materials beyond innate spiritual treasures. 104
