Background / History

Senba Academy and family downfall

In memories shown through Ye Ming’s videos, Mei was a popular but reserved Senba Academy student and the daughter of the ME Company. She recognized that many classmates valued her status rather than her personally, while Ye Ming treated her as an ordinary girl. 112 113

Mei began bringing Ye Ming meals after finding him without lunch. Their arrangement developed into an affectionate exchange of food, with Mei taking pride in refining her cooking for him. 113 115 Her family’s circumstances then collapsed: her father was wrongly imprisoned, the company was seized, and Mei was left in poverty and isolated by classmates who had once courted her favor. 114 115

Friendship with Kiana and the Honkai outbreak

Kiana entered Mei’s life as an exchange student, befriended her, and protected her from bullying. Together with Ye Ming, they formed a close trio. 115 116 When Honkai energy engulfed Chang Kong City, Mei began manifesting Herrscher power and urged Ye Ming to flee before losing control. 116

During a later crisis, Ye Ming entered Mei’s consciousness and removed himself from her memories so she could endure his eventual departure and continue protecting Kiana. The altered memories left Kiana at the center of scenes that had originally included Ye Ming. 148 150
