Chen and Himeji encountered Kaguya sealed inside the Moon, but Chen refused to rescue her and continued toward the Tenseigan. When the Moon’s Puppets attacked, Chen fought them and discovered that the apparent Otsutsuki Original Human was a Puppet.

After the Sage vanished, Chen's perception spread across the world, where he saw Indra's Chakra waiting for a host beneath a cave in the Land of Rice Fields.

• The Sage of Six Paths told Chen that he had opposed Kaguya to stop her from draining the Earth and turning humanity into White Zetsu.
• The Sage explained that he had never interfered in the living world's conflicts as long as humanity and the Earth endured, and he entrusted the future to Chen.

Shimura Danzo fled the Akatsuki Organization after growing tired of its dangerous missions and Kakuzu’s attacks, intending to build a new ninja village and replenish his Sharingan. Kakuzu and Sasori intercepted him in the forest, and the chapter ended with the two arguing over who would claim him.

• Shimura Danzo recalled how his old friends had betrayed his trust and blamed Hiruzen for sending him to infiltrate the Akatsuki Organization.
• After six months in the organization, Shimura Danzo decided to defect because of its dangerous missions, Kakuzu’s attacks, and his dwindling supply of Sharingan.
• Shimura Danzo planned to meet his former subordinates in the Land of Rice Fields and establish a new ninja village while collecting more Sharingan.
• Kakuzu confronted Shimura Danzo in the forest and said he had come under the leader’s orders to take his head.

Danzo fought Sasori and Kakuzu while using his prepared techniques and apparent ability to return from death to survive their attacks. After trapping Kakuzu with Omoikane, Danzo appeared to Kakuzu in the form of someone he recognized, leaving Kakuzu trembling and shouting that Danzo had died.

• Sasori attacked Danzo with Hiruko’s poisoned tail while Kakuzu joined in with a strike aimed at Danzo’s head.
• Danzo countered with Wind Release and summoned Baku, whose suction cleared Sasori’s magnetic sand and amplified Danzo’s attack against Kakuzu.
