Chen Yi did not hurry to leave the stage to verify some of his theories. Instead, he considered Bernard Kaka's purpose.

There had been no need for him to explain his abilities to Chen Yi. Even if he did explain them, he should not have explained their weaknesses.

Or perhaps the information he revealed contained a trap.

The conversation itself had been a deception.

It guided Chen Yi's thoughts and made him believe certain things.

But that did not make sense either.

Even before he knew deception was a possible path, Chen Yi had trusted no more than thirty percent of what others told him.

He only chose to believe something after verifying it himself.

Even during that conversation, Chen Yi had not fully believed Bernard Kaka.

Or rather, perhaps there was no such thing as deception at all.

Perhaps everything had merely been a smokescreen thrown out by Bernard Kaka, meant to make Chen Yi suspicious of everything or subtly convey some sort of message.

A few minutes later, Bersalia descended in boredom. "How dull. I thought some library had actually been built, but only part of it was finished."

Without Bernard Kaka's influence, the NPCs farther away reverted to normal NPCs.

They no longer possessed that same liveliness.

Shachen approached from another direction. His battle had also ended.

Chen Yi looked at the two Demons and asked, "Do you know Bernard Kaka's abilities?"

"That Sloth Demon? I think it's Genjutsu."

Bersalia answered without even thinking.

After giving it some thought, Shachen gave the same answer.

Indeed, if one did not distinguish their underlying nature, deception and Genjutsu did not seem all that different.

"Thank you. Let's stop here for today."

With that, Chen Yi exited the stage and Turned Into a stream of data that vanished.

Only the
