Background / History

Chen Yi entered the Game World with an unstable system download and initially possessed no class, skills, or Soul Energy. His Fire Affinity Talent identified Mage as his recommended profession, and he began developing through solitary combat, meditation, and repeated Fireball casting rather than relying on other players. 2 5

He refused offers to level with groups because he would not entrust his life to strangers. After reaching level 5, he left the Novice Village and continued operating independently. His early experiences with players fighting over loot reinforced his decision to become a rogue player. 7 14

After arriving in another world as a Mage, Chen Yi was effectively forgotten by his fellow Heroes. He used the opportunity to remain at the Mage Association, read extensively, record spell insights, and independently build his magical knowledge. The Game World later confirmed his faction as the Church and assigned him the quest to ensure the Church’s victory, offering Flame Demon Transformation as a reward. 26 27

Chen Yi later became a feared arena combatant and increasingly prominent rogue player. His victories, equipment sales, and confrontations with the Dynasty Guild made his name widely known among players and major guilds. 42 101 873

By Rank 7, Chen Yi had developed into an influential figure whose presence alone altered the plans of hostile factions. After killing Simon, he became president of the Shadow Plunderer Guild and used its Rank 7 members, intelligence network, and resources to pursue his own objectives. 1139 1193 1197

Appearance

Chen Yi is usually seen in mage attire and carries himself with a controlled, quiet presence. At higher levels, his aura becomes difficult to conceal, causing even veteran Rank 7s to feel wary. 767 1227 1250

  • Wears a refined magic robe marked with a sun and moon motif. 767
  • Often travels with the Fire Dragon and Chuka. 767
  • Has used masks and concealment equipment to suppress or distort his presence. 534 1250
  • His aura reflects extensive killing, even when he deliberately restrains it. 1227

Personality

Chen Yi is intensely self-reliant. His early refusal to trust parties was not simple aloofness: he regarded dependence on strangers as a dangerous weakness and consistently prioritized survivability, knowledge, and personal control. 5 9 14

He is analytical and methodical, frequently spending weeks or months researching spells, laws, equipment, and his own limitations before attempting major improvements. He values foundations over immediate gains, choosing Soul Strength and stable advancement when more explosive options are available. 154 628 945 1134

In conflict, Chen Yi is pragmatic rather than heroic. He can show restraint toward people he considers irrelevant or undeserving of death, but he is ruthless toward obstacles that interfere with his goals. 1126 1189 His growing killing obsession and emotional exhaustion have repeatedly required deliberate self-reflection and correction. 743 790 1329

Three Spirits Unity Sacrifice

A high-level amplification technique linked to Chen Yi’s HP tier.

  • Its power scales with his HP and theoretically has no upper limit. 1223
  • Its second stage can dramatically increase destructive output, including a doubling of Cursed Technique power. 1300
  • The technique is limited by arena defeat rules, which can prevent Chen Yi from activating its second state. 1461

Sealing and Pact Techniques

Chen Yi employs sealing techniques and pacts to mitigate threats that cannot be overcome through direct force alone.

  • His known techniques include Sealing True Meaning, Sealing Jutsu, Seal Soul, and Seal Domain. 1124
  • Created the pact Sloth’s Flame Lord, granting a 50% reduction against pact attacks. 1130
