Background

Sasuke was raised in the Uchiha Clan as Itachi Uchiha's younger brother. After Itachi annihilated the clan and apparently killed their parents, Sasuke awoke his Sharingan in the Leaf Village Hospital. The shock left him fixated on one goal: gaining enough power to kill Itachi. 388

Zhang Miao exploited Sasuke's desire for revenge by promising knowledge of Itachi's weakness. Sasuke agreed to leave Konohagakure with him and became Zhang Miao's apprentice, despite initially resenting the proposal that he take the Uzumaki surname. 389

At Zhang Miao's home, Sasuke was welcomed by Kushina Uzumaki, a friend of Mikoto Uchiha.
