"Since we're on the subject, I have a question I'd like to ask."
Kuro, their resident brains, pressed the attack again. He pushed up his glasses, his tone exceptionally sharp and tricky.
"Crocodile, you admitted just now that you believe the rumor that the three great Ancient Weapons are essentially three Devil Fruits. And you yourself are already an Ability User of the Sand-Sand Fruit. That is correct, isn't it?"
"That's right. I ate the Sand-Sand Fruit long ago," Crocodile admitted calmly.
"Then your plot to obtain Pluto is a false premise from the start!"
Kuro lowered his hand, his gaze cold.
"Everyone knows the iron rule of the sea. A person can only eat one Devil Fruit in their lifetime. Anyone who eats a second will have their body explode and die!"
"Since you already have an ability, then even if Pluto really is a fruit and is placed right in front of you, you still can't eat it. You went to such great lengths to find something you can't even use. Isn't that just wasted effort?"
"Hahahaha, your logic is pretty tight. And you're right. Back when I first heard this news over ten years ago and understood the contradiction in it, I did feel despair for a time."
Crocodile laughed at first, but immediately after, his face turned solemn. In his formerly dull eyes, a light suddenly burst out, mad to the extreme.
"But what if, in this world, there exists a forbidden method that can break that iron rule and allow a person to safely eat a second Devil Fruit?"
"Hm?"
Kuro raised his brows, a rare sight. On that face that was always unmoved by anything, astonishment finally appeared.
"You dare believe such empty nonsense?"
He believed there was such a method in this world.
