Yao Chen was once a renowned Dou Zun and Eighth-grade Alchemist whose name carried weight across the Middle Continent. His disciple Han Feng conspired with Old Man Mu Gu, stabbed him from behind with poison, and destroyed his physical body. Yao Chen escaped only by relying on the Bone Spirit Cold Flame, then remained hidden within a Storage Ring for nearly two decades. 31 229

While residing in the ring, Yao Chen absorbed Xiao Yan's Dou Qi to preserve himself, causing Xiao Yan's cultivation to stagnate for three years. Xiao Cang exposed him, forced him out of the Storage Ring, and rejected his attempts at negotiation. 30 31

Yao Chen attempted to flee and later burned the majority of his Soul Power to resist Xiao Cang. Even with the Bone Spirit Cold Flame and his former Dou Zun experience, he was overwhelmed by Xiao Cang's techniques and left severely weakened. 31 32 33
