Background

Yuan Xi spent her childhood at Yuan Manor with her parents and elder brother, Yuan Wang. Her happiest memories include playing in the Spiritual Tea Garden with him, where he made her a flower crown and called her a “little fairy.” 54 57

That childhood ended when Yuan Wang became a demonic cultivator. He murdered both of their parents after being denied the Cangshui Heavenly Art, wounded Yuan Xi, spared her life, and ordered her to leave as Yuan Manor burned. 55 57

True Monarch Qingyun brought Yuan Xi to Tianyi Sect after the destruction of the Yuan family. Yuan Xi came to regard Tianyi Sect as her home and Qingyun as a mother figure. 506

Appearance

Yuan Xi is noted for her beauty and a gentle, jade-like bearing; her eyes are described as shining like stars when she smiles. 10 12

  • Her calm expression and refined demeanor sharply contrast with the chilling killing intent she displays in battle. 12 50
  • As a child, she wore her hair in two buns and had almond-shaped eyes and dimples when she smiled. 54
  • In combat, she wields a sword in each hand, giving her a poised but formidable presence. 69

Personality

Yuan Xi is considerate, patient, and protective toward her junior disciples. She teaches Lin Qi basic spells and herb cultivation, mediates disputes between Lin Qi and Luo Ci, and stresses that disciples may compete internally but must stand united against outsiders. 16

Within Tianyi Sect, she is known for fairness, compassion, humility, and willingness to answer others’ cultivation questions. Her talent and noble background never lead her to act arrogantly, earning her broad respect among disciples. 75

Her gentleness coexists with a deeply rooted obsession with revenge. Yuan Wang’s betrayal and the deaths of her parents left her emotionally vulnerable to illusion techniques, but also gave her the resolve to pursue him for years despite the danger. 50 57 188

Yuan Xi is also highly pragmatic. She recognizes hostile intentions quickly, avoids unwinnable confrontations, and is willing to feign weakness or cooperate temporarily in order to turn a situation to her advantage. 671 672
