Su Wan first appears while kneeling before Shushan's main hall after being framed for attacking Jiang Luoshui and colluding with the Demonic Cult. Though abandoned by people she trusted and unwilling to defend herself, she is ultimately cleared when Li Xuanxiao produces evidence from an Image Stone he had secretly placed in her cave dwelling. 6 7

The surveillance had continued for five years. Su Wan is initially angered by the violation, but accepts Li Xuanxiao's explanation after he swears a Great Dao oath that he acted to protect her from Jiang Luoshui's schemes. This contrast with Murong Mo's failure to defend her causes Su Wan to reassess both men. 7 8
