Background / History

Xie Wuxing descended from the Sword Pavilion on his first journey outside the mountain. His teacher regarded him as capable of standing above nearly all cultivators of his generation in Kutan, with only an elusive young woman surnamed Zhao named as a possible exception. He sought to slay monsters, pursue Immortal traces, and establish himself among the younger generation. 35 38

While traveling near Hun City, Xie rescued Du Yanruo from Luo Yong monsters. Du exploited his sense of justice by portraying Jiang Wang as a tyrant who had imprisoned and persecuted her family, prompting Xie to seek Jiang out. 32 33

Encounter with Xiao

During the conflict involving Cai Tanggu and Dong Chongyang, Xie observes Jiang's battle before challenging Xiao on a rooftop. Xiao destroys his River Stream Sword Intent with a single strike, leaving Xie deeply unsettled by Xiao's unusual cultivation. 42 43

Hun City's Monster Crisis
