Background / History

Bibi Dong begins as an innocent, talented Spirit Hall disciple. After awakening Twin Martial Souls and Innate Full Soul Power, she becomes Qian Xunji’s student. She falls in love with Yu Xiaogang and uses Spirit Hall resources to support his cultivation. When they attempt to elope, Qian Xunji discovers them and sexually assaults her. He later forces her to carry their daughter, Qian Renxue, to term 80 126.

Her resentment toward Qian Xunji and Spirit Hall attracts the Rakshasa God, leading her to undertake his Nine Trials. The god’s influence eventually distorts her temperament and intensifies her hatred of the Qian Family, extending even to her daughter. Qian Renxue remembers receiving affection before awakening her Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul, but hostility afterward 80 92 126.

Following Tang Hao’s attack on Qian Xunji, Bibi Dong devours Qian Xunji’s soul. She becomes Spirit Hall’s first female Pope one year after his death. Her authority initially remains insecure: the Elder Hall repeatedly opposes her, and she regards herself as little more than a puppet while seeking the Qian Family’s humiliation and Spirit Hall’s destruction 3 46 280.

Under the Rakshasa God’s influence, Bibi Dong is cold, ruthless, and consumed by resentment. She treats Tang Hao’s assault on Spirit Hall as an opportunity to embarrass the Elder Hall, watching without intervening and later demanding that its injured worshippers pay for repairs to the plaza 46.

After the Rakshasa God’s death, she regains a temperament closer to her carefree youth. She becomes more approachable to her subordinates and actively seeks reconciliation with Qian Renxue. Her ambition also changes: rather than destroying Spirit Hall, she supports continental unification as a means of improving ordinary people’s lives and accepts the importance of winning public support 92 125 126.

Her warmer disposition does not eliminate her severity. She investigates corrupt officials, develops plans against Tang Hao, and ultimately imprisons Yu Xiaogang. By the later divine trials, however, family and personal happiness matter more to her than retaining the papacy, which she describes as exhausting 125 128 351 352.
