Background / History

Qian Ran was born into an Angel Martial Soul family afflicted by a hereditary catastrophe: their Martial Souls had shattered for generations, while children who underwent awakening died or had their lives shortened. His own sea of consciousness was fractured and close to collapse, and his delayed awakening meant he would not survive past nine without intervention. Qian Qin asked Xu Jie to accept him as a disciple in the hope that he could be saved. 54 80

Beginning at age five, Qian Ran trained in the Pure Yang Wuji Art under Xu Jie. When he was seven, Qian Qin used her life to awaken his Angel Martial Soul. Her body became an Angel God statue and merged with him; Huo Yuhao and Electrolux preserved her soul within the statue, allowing her to remain with Qian Ran in his sea of consciousness. 81 82

Xu Jie subsequently left Shrek Academy in part to care for Qian Ran, whom he publicly described as a distant younger cousin. The two traveled to the Star Dou Great Forest, where Qian Ran obtained his first soul ring and began wielding the Flash Technique. 93 97 99

After Xu Jie temporarily left him in the care of Jing Ziyan and Ji Juechen, Qian Ran studied literacy, basic swordsmanship, and the Two-Form Sword Art. He later absorbed the Eight-Petal Immortal Orchid and reached Rank 30. 123 184 200

Qian Ran's damaged Martial Soul began to recover when Qian Renxue's phantom appeared through the Angel Mark and a golden soul bone. With Ye Guyi's assistance, he completed a thirteen-step Heavenly God Trial, receiving further Angel inheritance rewards. 289

Qian Ran is trusting, obedient, and deeply attached to Xu Jie. He openly expresses missing his master and is distressed when Xu Jie appears exhausted, though Xu Jie insists that Qian Ran’s peaceful life is all the help he wants from him. 144 186 561

He is diligent rather than discouraged by his limitations. When told that stronger cultivation would sharpen his Angel senses, he resolved to train harder. He also wishes to contribute during crises despite still being protected as one of the younger members of the group. 364 505
