Background / History

Dai Weisi was named by his father, Emperor Dai Feng, shortly after the Star Crown Sect helped eliminate the Black Tiger Sect. As Dai Feng's first son, Weisi was expected to inherit both the Star Luo throne and his father's ambition to conquer the Heaven Dou Empire. 54

While studying at Star Luo Royal Academy, Weisi associated with Zhu Zhuyun and children of the empire's great noble families. At the imperial court's direction, he attempted to build a relationship with Xu Mingjie of the Star Crown Sect, whose growing influence made him a valuable ally. 108 109

During the war against Spirit Hall, Dai Weisi remained in Star Luo City to oversee state affairs while Dai Feng and Empress Zhu Lin led the White Tiger Legion to the front. The responsibility placed the imperial rear under an inexperienced ruler while much of the empire's strength was deployed elsewhere. 159 165

As the Star Luo Empire lost control over its southern territories, Zhu Lin brought Dai Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun to the Star Crown Sect, seeking protection amid the political crisis. 176

After Dai Mubai returned in disgrace, Dai Feng openly favored Weisi as his successor. By then, Weisi had reached the Soul Emperor rank and was considered superior to his younger brother in bearing, political ability, and cultivation. He agreed to accompany his father in the campaign against the Spirit Hall Empire. 212

Dai Weisi is socially assertive and conscious of the value of influential connections. At Star Luo Royal Academy, he invited Xu Mingjie into his social circle and used his familiarity with Star Luo City's noble entertainment venues to impress him. 109

He is also portrayed as more dependable than Dai Mubai in Dai Feng's eyes. Though still considered insufficiently mature to manage the imperial rear alone during wartime, he answers his father's call to war without hesitation. 165 212
