Background / History

Secluded beginnings

The sect was founded by the First Generation Star Crown Douluo and remained secluded on Starfall Mountain for thousands of years. Most disciples avoided worldly affairs. Outsiders generally entered through marriage, with spouses often bringing their families to settle in the sect 1 2.

Its recorded ancestor, Star Douluo, reached Level 98 but never crossed the threshold to Level 99. His notes connected starlight-related soul rings with faster cultivation and fewer bottlenecks. These records later guided the sect’s efforts to develop Xu Mingxi’s unusual Star Calling soul skill 3 6.

Xu Mingguang was raised as Xu Chunxing’s successor. After Xu Mingxi obtained Star Calling, the leadership formally made Mingguang Young Sect Master while secretly nurturing Mingxi, protecting the younger prodigy from outside attention 1 3.

Cultivation expansion and public debut

Xu Mingxi’s ability to gather starlight benefited nearby cultivators. After his Martial Soul evolved, the sect arranged collective cultivation beneath the Starry Tree, producing breakthroughs across several generations. Vine Elder and Tree Elder permitted up to fifty eligible members to use the area, helping disciples stalled at Level 69 become Soul Saints 4 21.

Following three years of training in the Star Dou Great Forest, Mingxi returned and was appointed Young Sect Master in a grand ceremony. Mingguang supported his appointment and continued developing the sect’s connections in the southeast 37 39.

The sect’s public debut came through cooperation with Emperor Dai Feng against the Black Tiger Sect. Xu Chunxing departed with two elders and Mingguang, minimizing the risk to ordinary disciples. The operation earned the sect nearly half of the Black Tiger Sect’s resources and a thirty-thousand-year soul bone, while revealing its Titled Douluo presence to the continent 54.

Resistance to Spirit Hall

The sect refused Bibi Dong’s invitation to the reselection of the Upper Three Sects. As Spirit Hall’s suppression intensified, it accepted selected outside forces of good character as outer disciples stationed at Starfall Mountain’s foot 70 78.

It initially avoided involvement in the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s crisis, then sent Sixth Elder Fang Chun and two Soul Saints to assist through the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. After Ghost Douluo gravely injured Fang Chun, Xu Chunxing retrieved him and withdrew from continental affairs 75 78.

Qian Daoliu subsequently forbade the sect from participating in outside conflicts. Its protection extended only to forces willing to move within Starfall Mountain’s boundaries. Xu Mingxi’s return with the Three Elders, Moonlight Essence, and Soul Tool blueprints gave the leadership renewed confidence 102.

Alliances and imperial rule

The sect used its concealed Soul Tool industry to secure the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s support. Ning Fengzhi agreed to stand under its banner while retaining his sect’s independence; until the Star Crown Sect openly revealed its position, the two would remain ordinary allies 143 144.

During Spirit Hall’s continental war, the sect reinforced the Star Luo front with five Titled Douluo, eight Soul Douluo, and more than twenty Soul Saints. Its fighters later attacked with linked Soul Power under Xu Mingxi’s Star Domain 158 168.

After the Heaven Dou Empire fell and Star Luo’s royal authority weakened, the sect mobilized its diplomatic network and prepared the Star Crown Xu Family’s enthronement. Mingxi secured Dai Feng’s agreement to place the empire under the sect’s rule while preserving substantial autonomy for regional powers 176 177 178.

Star God Halls became the foundation of this new order. They offered free Martial Soul awakenings and collected faith for Mingxi’s pursuit of godhood, restoring a service that had disappeared locally when Spirit Hall’s branch halls were uprooted during the war 178.

Assault on Starfall Mountain

Although the sect entered a fragile alliance with Qian Daoliu against Sea God Island, Spirit Hall later betrayed it. Qian Daoliu used Formless Poison to disrupt the Soul Power of its Titled Douluo, while Mighty Lion Douluo led an attack intended to rescue Azure Luan and Light Feather Douluo 174 175 203.

The Star’s Protection Grand Array broke under the assault. Xu Fangming directed the defense, called upon the hidden ancestors, and relied on the Star Seeking Vine and Starry Tree to hold the attackers. Xu Zixlong joined the attack with heavily equipped Sun Moon experts, and the mountain gate was destroyed 204 205.

After surviving the assault, the sect prepared retaliation through the Star Luo Empire rather than exhausting its disciples alone. The Second and Third Elders remained to guard and rebuild its home; the other Titled Douluo departed with large stocks of long-range Soul Tools 209 210.

Postwar position

The Spirit Hall Empire was dismantled, and its resources passed to the Star Luo Empire. The Star Crown Sect expanded Star God Halls across the continent, combining free awakenings with surveillance of potential threats. It became the principal beneficiary of the imperial order while continuing to strengthen the empire in return 220.

Xu Mingxi conquered the Sun Moon Continent and made it a Star Luo vassal before entering secluded cultivation. Xu Mingjie eventually became Star Luo Emperor, while Xu Mingguang became Sect Master. Fifty years later, Mingguang witnessed Mingxi’s ascension to godhood 220.

Abilities & Skills

Star Crown Martial Soul

The inherited Star Crown appears as an ornate, gemstone-studded crown hovering above its user’s head. Its soul-ring choices support assault, control, or support development 1.

  • It raises suitable low-age soul beasts for early soul rings 5.
  • Control specialists may obtain Star Radiance Bewitchment from Bewitching Butterflies; support specialists may obtain mental healing from Soul Devouring Butterflies, though the latter result is uncommon 22.

Star Power Fusion Method

An ancestor developed this method to link the Soul Power of Star Crown users for cultivation and combat 21.

  • The elders use it against a hundred-thousand-year Golden Toothed Tiger, which they successfully kill 26.

  • It is not invulnerable: a Super Douluo Martial Soul Fusion Skill and Mighty Lion Douluo’s assault overwhelm it during the attack on Starfall Mountain 204.

Enhanced Cultivation Environment

Xu Mingxi, the Starry Tree, and the Star Seeking Vine turn the Back Mountain into a premier cultivation site for Star Crown users 118.

  • Mingxi’s Star Calling increases local starlight concentration and nearby cultivation speed 4.

  • Recruits blacksmiths from Gengxin City, including Divine Craftsman Lou Gao and his disciples 143.
  • Manufactures offensive and defensive Soul Tools through seventh grade when negotiating with Ning Fengzhi 144.
  • Uses Soul Tools to give support-type Soul Masters independent combat capabilities 143.
  • Later accumulates enough equipment for several Soul Tool Master Legions, including weapons capable of Soul Saint-level attacks 210.
