Background / History
God Realm schemes
Tang San detects abnormal fluctuations in Douluo Continent's fortune and responds by awakening a Divine Sense within his daughter Xiao Qi. He is prepared to eliminate the Child of Destiny if that person cannot be controlled, placing his plans above the child's survival. 108
After learning of Huo Yuhao's Seed of the Plane, Tang San intends to seize it and become Lord of the Plane. His Divine Sense inside Wang Dong monitors Huo Yuhao, while Tang San considers using Huo Yuhao and then killing him; he also plans to erase Wang Dong's memories if necessary. 163
His preparations in the lower realm include Tang Hao, Ah Yin, Sea God Island, the Clear Sky Sect's soul beasts, and multiple strands of Divine Sense. One strand rests within the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and carries the power of three attacks. 168
Tang San later orders Sea God Island to provoke a war between Sea Soul Beasts and the Star Dou Great Forest's soul beasts. His real objective is to exploit resulting Destiny fluctuations, merge Xiao Qi's divided soul into the Emperor Auspicious Beast, and obtain both the soul beast clan's fortune and the Golden Dragon Spear. 250
Parallel Douluo I conflicts
In the parallel Douluo I world, Tang San's distrust of Tang Hao grows after Dugu Bo claims that Tang Hao arranged a test of his identity. Tang San outwardly cooperates while privately deciding that he may ruthlessly turn on Tang Hao if betrayed. 305
While trying to save Oscar from the Diamond Ape, Tang San accepts Huo Yuhao's demand to surrender the Eight Spider Lances. Huo Yuhao kills the beast, removes the External Soul Bone directly from Tang San's spine, and leaves him severely weakened. 330
Tang San later faces Tang Ya and Wang Dong, whose mastery of Tang Sect arts and Blue Silver Emperor suppresses his Blue Silver Grass. Wang Dong defeats him with the Clear Sky Hammer, leaving him despondent over the gap between them. 371 372
A trade conducted through Huo Yuhao strips Tang San of cultivation progress in the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Purple Demon Eyes, and Mystic Jade Hand. In return, Tang San gains the self-created technique Thinking of Wu Fist, Thoughts Like a Spring! and resolves to develop it further. 424
Yu Xiaogang subsequently sacrifices Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor Bloodline for personal gain. Tang San's cultivation speed and Blue Silver Grass weaken drastically; although he attempts to kill Yu Xiaogang, he relents because Yu Xiaogang's knowledge of Twin Martial Soul cultivation remains useful. 495
Collapse of the ten-thousand-year plan
After the Silver Dragon King aids Huo Yuhao, Tang San loses contact with Tang Hao and Ah Yin, while his lower-realm arrangements collapse. He decides to use the Silver Dragon King's exposure to distract the God of Destruction and rebuild his plans around the soul of Huo Yuhao's mother. 557
Tang San keeps Huo Yun'er's soul in a pearl as leverage against Huo Yuhao, claiming to Xiao Wu that he had merely intended to revive her for Huo Yuhao in the future. Huo Yuhao successfully steals the soul bead, removing Tang San's primary bargaining chip. 569 570
When Xiao Wu is captured, Tang San realizes he has been manipulated and chooses to endure rather than confront Huo Yuhao directly. He resolves to wait for an opportunity to rescue her. 578
Tang San descends to Mingdu intending to abduct Huo Yuhao's relatives and companions. The Water and Fire Dragon Kings overwhelm him; unable to escape normally, he unleashes Sea God's Twilight toward Mingdu to delay his pursuers, endangering the city's civilians. 596 597
Huo Yuhao redirects Tang San's own attacks back at him, seals his divine power, severs his hands and feet, and removes his sea-blue divine core. 597
Rebirth
Huo Yuhao later creates a rebirth scenario in which three versions of Tang San awaken: Tang Yi San, Tang Er San, and Tang San San. Though they initially cooperate, each secretly intends to eliminate the other two so that only one Tang San remains. 643
The three reincarnations prove their shared identity through hidden weapons, Tang Sect arts, and their knowledge of braiding Xiao Wu's hair. Their rivalry continues through childhood and into Shrek Academy. 644
Personality
Tang San is calculating, patient, and highly possessive of his plans. He treats allies, subordinates, soul beasts, and even family bonds as resources that can be used to secure control over Douluo Continent and the God Realm. 163 250 569
He can maintain a gentle and composed exterior while concealing hostility. When his plans fail, he adapts quickly, reframing setbacks as opportunities to manipulate rivals such as the God of Destruction. 557 569
His attachment to Xiao Wu is one of his clearest vulnerabilities. He repeatedly risks his position to protect or recover her, and her absence prevents him from properly wielding the Asura God position. 248 578
