Background

Luo Ya begins as a new recruit of the 153rd Marine Branch. He pushes himself through exhausting physical drills by relying on his mysterious World power to recover from fatigue and injury, provided he can consume enough food to sustain the cost 4. His rapid improvement earns an Excellent assessment and the attention of both fellow recruits and his superiors 9 10.

During the operation against the Black Cat Pirates, Luo Ya becomes the branch’s leading contributor to Kuro’s defeat. He returns to Shells Town as a local hero and is commissioned as an Ensign, receiving a Justice Cloak from Colonel Rhode 29 30.
