"Have the peaceful days already passed?"
Early in the morning, at the Anbu base, Hidezawa walked inside while yawning.
Their break this time had lasted longer than expected, and Hidezawa had truly enjoyed slacking off to the fullest!
Sometimes, he could not help but sigh. If he had received treatment like this back in Root, how wonderful would that have been?
"At least I wouldn't be thinking every day about how to kill Danzo, right?"
After casually greeting the people around him, Hidezawa felt irritated the moment Boss Shimura, the man responsible for his "miserable childhood," came to mind.
Especially since that old bastard had actually made him write a report while he was slacking off as if avenging past grievances. It brought all those painful memories flooding back.
The report's contents were even more absurd: he had to meticulously record everything before and after this mission, as well as his contact with Shisui Uchiha.
"So he just wants to know about Shisui Uchiha and Naruto?"
It was not just the report. Hidezawa knew that the old bastard had probably already sent people to investigate what had happened that day.
He had probably even spoken with the Third Hokage, since the Third Hokage would never allow Naruto to have any connection to Danzo.
"The outcome must have been good. Maybe that old man even took the blame himself!"
Hidezawa thought with a sly grin. His background was spotless, so he had nothing to fear from an investigation.
Besides, he knew what his boss dreamed of, so he had already decided how to deal with him.
Didn't Danzo want to become Hokage? But to become Hokage, he needed prestige!
Hidezawa decided that, in the future, he would make Lord Danzo's name echo throughout the entire Shinobi World.
As for whether he would become famous across the world or hated by the entire world, Hidezawa declined to comment.
After all, his system's guiding principle was: as long as the mission was completed, that was enough.
The system did not care how it was completed.
"So I don't need to care either!"
As he headed deeper into the Anbu base, Hidezawa soon spotted Yugao and Shisui, who had clearly been waiting there for some time.
The two had obviously arrived much earlier than Hidezawa. When they saw him, they both took the initiative to greet him.
"You're a little late."
"Hello, Hidezawa-kun."
Yugao was still somewhat cold on the outside but warm within, while Shisui seemed a little awkward.
Their first meeting had not gone very pleasantly. Hidezawa's remark—"Are you questioning the Hokage's decision?"—had frightened Shisui badly.
Heaven and earth bear witness, how could he possibly question the Hokage?
He had hoped to prove himself and help his clan reintegrate into Konohagakure!
Yet after hearing Hidezawa and Yugao's explanation, only one thought remained in his mind—had he really questioned the Hokage?
No matter how fiercely the rumors spread, wasn't that boy still in Konohagakure? Wasn't that the Hokage's decision?
I really deserve to die.
"I think my timing is perfect. The Hokage probably hasn't even started work yet."
Hidezawa checked the time, then spoke with a smile as he turned his gaze toward Shisui.
"Morning, Shisui-senpai."
How could Hidezawa fail to notice Shisui's awkwardness? Still, seeing Shisui put him in an especially good mood.
Because that kid had actually dropped gold coins for him!
Danzo making him write a report had, unsurprisingly, been materialized into a mission by the system, and naturally, missions came with rewards.
For the reward, even though Hidezawa had been slacking off as if avenging himself, he had no choice but to pull himself together and write a proper report.
And once he completed the mission, he received something quite interesting.
Mission Completed: Write a Report Mission Rating: A Reward Obtained: Yin Release Free Points Obtained: 1
Getting a Free Point for writing a report was already enough to make him ecstatic, but obtaining Yin Release left him stunned.
Yin Release and Yang Release were actually innate to everyone. Simply put, these two powers could be regarded as "physical energy" and "spiritual energy."
However, being able to manifest and control those two powers was incomparably difficult.
The Akimichi, Nara, and Yamanaka clans were not bloodline-limit clans, yet they remained major powers in the Shinobi World because they possessed secret techniques that controlled Yin Release and Yang Release.
With Hidezawa's Body Comprehensive Quality, these two powers were clearly not weak, but he had no way to manifest them.
Yet he had never expected that merely mentioning Shisui while writing his report would actually make Yin Release drop!
"Then if future missions involve people like the Akimichi clan, my former colleague Kano, or someone like Tsunade, could Yang Release possibly drop too?"
The Shinobi World's leeks grew crop after crop. As long as a mission involved them, he would have a chance. That immediately filled him with motivation.
"Still, why does the Yin Release I obtained work so similarly to Madara's Yin Release: Lightning Dispatch? It increases stats too?"
Hidezawa did not know whether Madara's Yin Release: Lightning Dispatch had any illusion-inducing effects.
But its power was absolutely immense. In a sense, it was another kind of stat increase.
Fortunately, when this "Numerical Monster" increased his stats, it was far more than simple enhancement.
When he invested points into Taijutsu, the system gave him all the principles and knowledge involved.
That made him deeply familiar with the chakra attributes he possessed. As that understanding gradually developed in the future and became completely clear, perhaps he could try something.
"Fuse!"
In the vast world of Naruto, everything ultimately came down to bloodlines and being related to the Otsutsuki. Hidezawa lacked such "good fortune," so he could only find another path.
"Alright, stop dwelling on it."
Yugao had no idea what Hidezawa was thinking. Seeing him still smile at Shisui, she could not help but tug him back.
"The whole village was like that. Shisui-senpai just didn't react in time."
"Yugao-senpai, do you really think I'm that petty?"
Hidezawa shot Yugao a displeased look. He had always considered himself a magnanimous person!
Though he constantly remembered Danzo's "kindness" toward him and always thought about how to stab his boss in the back, wasn't Boss Shimura still always on his mind?
"It's fine. This was my fault. My awareness wasn't deep enough, so I deserve the criticism."
Shisui could not help stepping in to smooth things over, but when he saw Hidezawa raise an eyebrow, he immediately realized that he had seemingly confirmed Yugao's assessment of Hidezawa. He could only change the subject.
"We should get ready and go see the Hokage. I heard this mission won't be simple."
"Not simple?"
Hidezawa's eyes immediately lit up. A difficult mission meant better rewards!
Though Hidezawa was afraid of danger too—he only had one life, after all—this time, Shisui Uchiha was by his side.
Didn't that mean the safety factor had risen across the board? Hidezawa immediately became interested.
