Background / History

Saintess and succession struggle

Bibi Dong begins as Qian Xunjie's student and Spirit Hall's Saintess. She understands Pope Hall's weakness relative to Elder Hall and recognizes his intention to recruit powerful talent. Beneath her outward obedience, she harbors intense anger toward his possessive behavior and unwanted advances 25 47.

She approaches Kizaru with an offer of friendship, gaining an ally who openly prefers her over Qian Xunjie. During a papal succession vote, the elusive Holy Son unexpectedly receives majority support; Kizaru, Yue Guan, and Ghost vote for Bibi Dong. The Holy Son is revealed to be Qian Xunjie's illegitimate son, Qian Xunlie 44 45 91.

Following Kizaru's recommendation, she meets Uchiha Madara outside Spirit City. Qian Xunlie's death removes her principal succession rival, but Madara warns that immediately killing Qian Xunjie would provoke Qian Daoliu. Qian Xunjie subsequently confirms her as the next Pope 92 98 103.

Training and family reconciliation

Madara trains Bibi Dong in Body Techniques so that she can protect herself without relying entirely on Soul Power. Their relationship becomes increasingly affectionate, and he gives her the Crown of God's Dawn. Bibi Dong organizes a competition held entirely in Spirit City, introduces an Individual Competition Soul Bone reward, and invites Madara as an honored guest. Her unification strategy depends on Qian Renxue taking control of Heaven Dou, preparing Spirit Hall for war, and neutralizing the remaining major sects.
