Background / History

Tang San is the son of Tang Hao and Ah Yin. As a child in Holy Soul Village, he displays unusual maturity, having “lived two lives,” and notices his father's strong reaction to Spirit Hall without forcing an explanation. 316

At his martial soul awakening, Tang San manifests Blue Silver Grass and secretly discovers his second martial soul, the Clear Sky Hammer. He chooses to reveal only Blue Silver Grass, following the caution he learned from his former life. His crystal test reveals Innate Full Soul Power. 317 Tang Hao later confirms his Twin Martial Souls and agrees to teach him forging while allowing him to pursue the path of a Soul Master. 318

Tang San trains in forging under Tang Hao, learning the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer technique and developing enough skill to pass a craftsmanship test. Tang Hao sends him to Nuoding Academy so that he can gain experience in human society, while Kizaru secures his enrollment and protection. 319 320

At Nuoding, Tang San briefly becomes Dormitory Seven's head by defeating Wang Sheng, only to lose the position to Xiao Wu. 321 He later accepts Yu Xiaogang as his teacher after the latter deduces his Twin Martial Souls and recognizes the potential of Blue Silver Grass. 323

Appearance

At approximately twelve years old, Tang San is described as a boy in blue, around five foot nine, often traveling with Xiao Wu. 419 After awakening the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, his black hair deepens into a blue nearly identical to Ah Yin's, while forging and training give him an unusually strong physique for a control-type Soul Master. 656

  • Wields blue-glowing Blue Silver Grass. 509
  • Can manifest the imposing Clear Sky Hammer. 457
  • Bears eight blue-purple Eight Spider Lances on his back after obtaining his External Soul Bone. 458 459
  • Gains a golden trident mark on his forehead upon receiving the Sea God's inheritance. 686

Personality

Tang San is observant, cautious, and highly deliberate. He conceals his Clear Sky Hammer immediately after awakening it because he refuses to reveal his full strength to people whose intentions he does not know. 317 His restraint remains evident when Spirit Hall attempts to recruit him: he declines Bibi Dong's offer despite understanding the danger of refusal. 646

He values study, planning, and discipline. Tang San prioritizes intelligence, judgment, and reaction speed in battle, then Soul Power level and Soul Ring quality. 432 He regularly analyzes enemies, identifies weaknesses, and organizes his team's tactics. 456 503 507

His strongest emotional vulnerability is Xiao Wu. Threats against her can drive him from controlled calculation into lethal resolve, as seen against the Man Faced Demon Spider and Yu Tianheng. 457 510 Even so, he remains modest about his own accomplishments and shows concern when his powers endanger allies. 460 521

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, supported by Innate Full Soul Power. 317 318

  • Keeps the Clear Sky Hammer hidden on Tang Hao and Yu Xiaogang's advice. 323
  • Uses Blue Silver Grass as his primary control-type martial soul.
  • Uses the Clear Sky Hammer to compensate for enemies who overpower him physically. 457 510
  • His Clear Sky Hammer initially has no attached Soul Rings. 510 679

Blue Silver Grass Control

Tang San uses his Blue Silver Grass to restrain opponents, dictate positioning, and create openings for allies.

  • First Soul Skill: Entanglement — binds targets with vines. 459
  • Second Soul Skill: Parasite — threatens anyone who makes contact with his Blue Silver Grass. 459
  • Third Soul Skill: Spider Web Restraint — binds targets with a poisonous web; it defeats Dai Mubai, though Tang San initially cannot fully control the poison. 460
  • Fourth Soul Skill: Blue Silver Cage — traps enemies inside cages of black Blue Silver Grass. 644
  • Restrains the Man Faced Demon Spider long enough for his team to target its abdomen. 457

Tang Sect Techniques

Tang San retains techniques and principles from his previous life at the Tang Sect.

  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — an elusive movement technique used to evade attacks and create close-range openings. 426 457 510
  • Purple Demon Eye — enhances his perception enough to react to Yu Tianheng's high-speed attacks. 510
  • Divine Slaughter's Domain — used alongside Clear Sky Hammer techniques against the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King and in the war against Bibi Dong. 679 698
  • Applies the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer technique to the Clear Sky Hammer. 510 679

Eight Spider Lances

Tang San gains an External Soul Bone after absorbing the Man Faced Demon Spider's Soul Ring beyond his level limit. 458 459

  • Eight blue-purple spider legs emerge from his back and carry the Demon Spider's venom. 458
  • The Lances can poison, weaken, and numb opponents; Tang San can regulate the venom to avoid lethal harm. 509
  • He gradually learns to control them as naturally as his own limbs under intense spiritual pressure. 463
  • One Lance is torn off during his fight with Yu Tianheng. 509
  • Its initial emergence injures and poisons nearby allies, demonstrating Tang San's early lack of control. 458 460

Hidden-Weapon Craftsmanship

Tang San uses blacksmithing and Tang Sect knowledge to create hidden weapons.

  • Forges a Sleeve Arrow before his first Soul Ring hunt. 323
  • Uses the Godly Zhuge Crossbow alongside the Clear Sky Hammer to kill the Man Faced Demon Spider. 457
  • Crafts the Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus on Sea God Island, calling on the strongest hidden weapon from his previous life. 702
  • Uses the Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, Sea God's Light, and the Sea God's Trident in a coordinated attack that severely injures Bibi Dong. 702

Sea God Powers

After completing the Sea God Nine Trials, Tang San becomes the Sea God. 695 696

  • Wields the super divine artifact, the Sea God's Trident. 695
  • Can employ Sea God's Light in combat. 702
  • Reaches power capable of rivaling a god, though Rota warns that Bibi Dong remains stronger. 695 696
  • Faces Bibi Dong directly during the conflict with Spirit Hall. 698
