Early Life and Disappearance

Yao TianHuo grew up in a village. His first cultivation method was a middle Yellow-tier method his father found in the mountains. His original ambition was simply to become strong enough to move his family to a nearby fortified city of twenty or thirty thousand inhabitants. By the time he recounts these memories, roughly a thousand years have passed and his family is long dead 351.

He eventually became a renowned independent cultivator in the Central Plains. His first comprehension of the Fire Great Dao came during a life-or-death battle 344 836. In this novel, Venerable denotes someone who has touched the threshold beyond Nine Star Dou Zong without fully entering Dou Sheng 251.

Before Canaan Academy was founded, he became trapped beneath the magma at the site of the Heavenly Flame Training Gas Tower. Left with only a remnant soul, he remained there for centuries. His prolonged disappearance led Central Plains factions to record him as dead 277 551 836.

Meeting Nalan Ye

Nalan Ye encounters him when white mist emerges from a skeleton and forms an elderly soul figure. Despite his weakened state, Yao TianHuo immediately recognizes the unusual marks and Soul Imprint affecting Nalan Ye’s soul 251.

He helps Nalan Ye survive Cai Lin and cares for him during their two years beneath the tower. The two regard their eventual escape as a mutual debt: Nalan Ye calls him his benefactor, while Yao TianHuo credits Nalan Ye with making his own release possible 277. During their departure from Canaan Academy, he conceals the group’s presence from Su Qian’s search 269.

Recovery and Body Reconstruction

Nalan Ye promises to help restore his body, and Little Fairy Doctor offers the necessary materials in gratitude for his protection of Nalan Ye 269 271. He subsequently supports Nalan Ye’s campaign against the Gama Royal Family and the consolidation of the Nalan Empire 551.

While recovering, he accompanies Nalan Ye through the Northwest Territory and Black-Corner Region. He kills the Silver Lightning Wolf and Phoenix Winged Snake, fights the Mu Lan Valley elders, and helps obtain the Three Beasts Desolate Skill 315 323. He also processes a Heavenly Demon Phoenix corpse, extracting bloodline essence and refining its remains 349.

After returning from the Black-Corner Region, he begins reconstructing his body in the Nalan Residence. He remains a soul while Nalan Ye’s own reconstruction is already complete, but ultimately finishes his more demanding body after over two months 361 368 384.

Return to the Central Plains

In the Magma World, he kills a seventh-order Crimson Blood Flood Dragon and obtains the Nine Dragons Lightning Flame, emerging disheveled but uninjured 466.

He later returns openly to the Central Plains during the defense of Heavenly Snake Mansion. Thunder Venerable recognizes his name from centuries earlier. Yao TianHuo exploits the vulnerability of Thunder Venerable’s clone to the Fallen Heart Flame, helping force the enemy’s retreat 486 490.

The Snake-People Ancestral Land offers him access to the Amethyst Saint Pool, which he hopes will assist his advancement. During the expedition, he fights You Duo alongside Cai Lin, but withdraws when their opponent summons a Dou Sheng tribulation 485 523 525.

Becoming Heavenly Flame Saint

After three years of developing his techniques, Yao TianHuo prepares for his own Dou Sheng tribulation. He credits both his renewed cultivation and Nalan Ye’s Human World Kindling Flame with helping him finally reach this point 551 556.

The Amethyst Saint Pool conceals some of his potential, reducing the tribulation’s strength by no more than five percent. Its final attack nevertheless fuses the Thunder and Fire Great Daos. He counters with the culmination of his own Fire Great Dao and survives, attaining Dou Sheng and a Heaven Realm soul 554 556 557.

Great Love Alliance

Following his breakthrough, he lives alone in an uninhabited small world. Without a sect, descendants, or surviving relatives to accompany him, he spends his days cultivating in a dilapidated thatched cottage 840.

Nalan Ye eventually reunites with him and invites him into the Great Love Alliance against the Hall of Souls. He accepts because of their personal bond, asking only that Nalan Ye and his companions visit. Nalan Ye proposes improving his residence and establishing a direct wormhole to Starfall Pavilion 841 846.

That connection later allows him to enter the Star Realm unnoticed. Concealed within Tang San’s Fire Deer technique, he launches a surprise attack that wounds Nether Bone Saint. After the battle, he accepts Tang San’s invitation to visit Burning Flame Valley 863 867.

Appearance

• Original soul form: An illusory elderly man in white robes, with snowy hair and beard, an aged face, and calm eyes carrying a keen glint. His movements are initially stiff after awakening 251.
• Concealment: Wears a black cloak while still a soul to avoid attracting attention 368.
• Restored body: Retains his elderly appearance, white robes, and white hair, beard, and eyebrows 384.
• After reaching Dou Sheng: His body becomes jade-like during the breakthrough. Later, he appears younger and rosy-complexioned, with a refined, unworldly bearing 557 840.

Personality

Yao TianHuo is proud of his former standing and rarely treats weaker cultivators as equals. When Xiao Yan first addresses him as a Dou Ling, he does not bother responding. His arrogance also extends to racial prejudice: he dismisses Cai Lin as an alien Snake-Person unworthy of being called his savior 277 304.

His manner toward Nalan Ye is considerably warmer. He complains about interruptions, calls him a brat, and teases his cultivation habits, but repeatedly protects and advises him. After becoming a Dou Sheng, he patiently supplies power through repeated failed experiments rather than losing his temper 297 469 845.

He retains an appetite for discovery despite his age and confinement. Watching Nalan Ye contend with heavenly tribulation rekindles his desire to explore the world, while meeting Tang San gives him the pleasure of finding a fellow Dou Sheng 371 867. His enthusiasm when visitors finally reach his isolated small world also reveals how much he misses companionship 840 841.
