History
Formation and headquarters construction
The alliance began with Nalan Ye and Little Fairy Doctor, then absorbed Green Luo’s group of prisoners of war. Its early growth depended on bringing existing sects and their personnel together rather than immediately establishing a separate institution 772.
Wind Venerable allocated three undeveloped peaks southeast of Starfall Pavilion’s main peak for its headquarters. Nalan Ye named them the Great Love Alliance Three Sisters, after Little Fairy Doctor, Mu Qingluan, and Tang Huo’er, and placed Green Luo in charge of construction 760.
Before its formal founding, the alliance dispatched an expedition to the Ancient Ruins under Nalan Ye. The expedition’s gains subsequently supplied prestigious rewards for the planned Opening Alliance Ceremony, supplemented by contributions from Starfall Pavilion and Burning Flame Valley’s warehouses 778 828 834.
Opening Alliance Ceremony
Nalan Ye formally declared the alliance founded before thousands of guests at Starfall Pavilion. He announced that all members of the three founding sects belonged to the alliance and would fight the Hall of Souls together. The ceremony also included arrangements for relatives and friends to collect 473 soul bodies 849 850.
The Hall of Souls attacked during the proceedings, intending to destroy the new organization publicly. The alliance repelled the assault; Nalan Ye killed Star Plucking Old Ghost, temporarily checked Nether Bone Saint, and gravely wounded the Seventh Heavenly Venerate. Heavenly Flame Saint and Tang San’s participation revealed the alliance’s Dou Sheng backing 854 865 866.
The victory established its reputation as a leading Central Plains power. Cao Ying described the new balance as “One Hall, One Tower, One Alliance.” After a three-day suspension, the ceremony resumed with martial and alchemy competitions and a substantial recruitment drive 866 868 870.
War across the Central Plains
When Hua Jin aligned the Flower Sect with the Hall of Souls, Nalan Ye declared war. His campaign destroyed the Flower Sect’s mountain gate and ended its established inheritance, while allowing ordinary disciples to disperse rather than exterminating them 937 948 950.
The Hall of Souls responded by assembling a wider coalition. The Great Love Alliance sought additional partners, sent reinforcements to Ten Thousand Swords Pavilion, and secured a public defense alliance with the Pill Tower. Wind and Lightning Pavilion secretly submitted but concealed its allegiance out of fear of Hall of Souls retaliation 951 952 954 960.
After a year of warfare and inconclusive exchanges between Dou Sheng experts, the Great Love Alliance, Pill Tower, and Hall of Souls settled into more stable spheres of influence. The alliance, as the newest contender, gained the most from the territorial reshuffling 960.
Bodhi Ancient Tree and regional consolidation
The alliance joined the expedition to the Bodhi Ancient Tree to prevent the Hall of Souls from monopolizing an opportunity to strengthen its experts. When Hun Qing awakened the tree’s demonic nature, Nalan Ye ordered the alliance to retreat 1023 1033.
Afterward, Nalan Ye distributed Bodhi Seeds to nurture the alliance’s leading cultivators. Their resulting seclusions left Little Fairy Doctor and Cai Lin handling affairs while the Hall of Souls and its allies intensified attacks on alliance territory 1045 1062 1063.
The alliance eventually destroyed its principal regional enemies and established control over the Central Plains. Rapid recruitment led to local branch alliances and a formal division between Inner and Outer Alliance forces. It also admitted Stone Clan survivors seeking refuge and support against the Soul Clan 1074 1075 1078.
Soul Clan offensive and reconstruction
Nalan Ye coordinated the alliance’s intelligence network with the ancient Three Clans during the search for Tou She Ancient God’s Cave Mansion. He secretly controlled the release of its location to bring Hun Tiandi, Gu Yuan, Lei Ying, and Yan Jin to Canaan Academy together 1112.
Anticipating retaliation after taking the Emperor Grade Young Pill, Nalan Ye withdrew the leadership and most followers into the Heavenly Flame Small World. Soul Clan forces devastated the abandoned Star Realm headquarters; people who had gathered there seeking admission were among those killed. With its entrances sealed, the alliance prepared to refine the pill while its former territory fell under renewed pressure 1129 1132.
The alliance later confronted Gu Yuan over the pill. Its Dou Sheng hesitated to oppose him, while Xiao Yan fought and Nalan Ye gathered nearby disciples’ Dou Qi through Thousands Pointing Fingers. Their attacks damaged but did not break Gu Yuan’s barrier 1140.
By the afterword, a larger headquarters had been completed in the Central State Central Region. It hosted the Great Love Emperor’s wedding and delegations from across the continent. The emperor also ordered his longtime undercover ally, Old Crow, to rebuild the Hall of Souls as a covert instrument under his control 1159 1161.
Organization and Leadership
Membership principles
- Retained affiliations: Joining did not require abandoning an existing sect or organization. Starfall Pavilion disciples and Cao Ying could retain their original identities 772 875.
- Member autonomy: Nalan Ye stated that the alliance did not interfere in the internal affairs of its constituent sects and families 952.
- Direct membership: Independent recruits answered to the alliance itself rather than to Starfall Pavilion or Burning Flame Valley, giving Nalan Ye a distinct personnel base 870 1011.
- Administrative distinction: Executive Vice Alliance Chiefs handled affairs; ordinary Deputy Alliance Chiefs could hold their positions without administrative duties 772.
Key personnel
| Position / Function | Member(s) | Responsibilities or standing |
|---|---|---|
| Alliance Leader | Nalan Ye | Founder, military commander, and final authority over major organizational decisions 778 849 880. |
| Executive Vice Alliance Chiefs | Little Fairy Doctor, Mu Qingluan, Tang Huo’er | The original three executive deputies; managed construction arrangements, recruitment, ceremony planning, and daily affairs 760 834 870 1045. |
| Senior leadership | Wind Venerable Gu Ling, Yao Chen, Tang Zhen | Presided over councils, diplomacy, competitions, and military operations 868 951 954. |
| Deputy Alliance Chief | Luo Zhen | Recruited as an Eight-Star Dou Zong; accepted a quiet position without routine administrative work 772. |
| Deputy Alliance Chief | Qing Lin | Appointed by Nalan Ye despite her reluctance to accept another leadership position 1010. |
| Pill Division Head | Cao Ying | Recruited to organize the alliance’s alchemists and develop its Pill Division 874 880. |
| Senior administrator / Emissary | Cai Lin | Managed affairs and military staffing during the leadership’s seclusions; handled applications and visiting delegations 1045 1062 1076. |
| Construction and internal support | Green Luo | First construction foreman; also carried messages and assisted recruitment efforts 760 876 935. |
| Intelligence operative | Old Crow | Supplied secret Hall of Souls intelligence; later hid within the alliance as a deacon 960 1063 1112. |
Inner and Outer Alliances
Following its regional victories, the organization established branch alliances and divided membership into Inner Alliance and Outer Alliance tiers. Admission was selective; prospective members could seek Outer Alliance status without expecting access to the Inner Alliance 1075.
The eleven documented Inner Alliance forces were 1075:
- Nalan Family
- Pill Tower
- Starfall Pavilion
- Burning Flame Valley
- Toxic Sect
- Ten Thousand Swords Pavilion
- Wind and Lightning Pavilion
- Heavenly Snake Mansion
- Yun Lan Sect
- Xiao Family
- Snake-People Tribe
The Xiao Family’s inclusion was explicitly linked to Xiao Meier’s engagement to Nalan Ye 1076.
Resources and Capabilities
Pill Division
- Research mandate: Nalan Ye offered Cao Ying freedom to research pill recipes and medicinal principles, access to alliance alchemists, and priority allocation of medicinal ingredients 874.
- Institutional design: Cao Ying modeled parts of her proposed division on the Pill Tower. Nalan Ye retained the authority to veto the proposal 880.
- Senior expertise: Yao Chen provided an established senior alchemist’s presence. Nalan Ye also promoted his ability to enhance Cao Ying’s pills by one color grade 875 881.
- Personnel claims: Nalan Ye advertised a future spectacle of nearly a thousand alchemists refining together; the passage presents this as his recruitment pitch, rather than a verified staffing count 881.
Intelligence and military coordination
- Infiltration: Old Crow’s coded reports warned of Hall of Souls plans, including an ordered decisive battle 1063.
- Regional surveillance: By the cave-mansion search, Nalan Ye claimed that the alliance’s Four-Directions Surveillance could track Soul Clan movements throughout its controlled territory 1112.
- Combined deployment: Founding-sect elders, direct recruits, allied Venerables, Dou Sheng, and puppets could be mobilized under a common command 778 951 1023.
- Collective Dou Qi: Nalan Ye could draw on nearby disciples through Thousands Pointing Fingers, although the gathered energy proved insufficient to break Gu Yuan’s barrier 1140.
Construction and logistics
- Civil engineering: Recruits repaired rivers and terrain damaged by battle. Nalan Ye personally joined the work, using techniques and puppets to relocate small peaks 880.
- Rewards and treatment: Storehouse pills and cultivation resources supported wounded members and rewarded battlefield contributions 867.
- Expansion pressure: Growing direct membership repeatedly outstripped the accommodation available on Three Sisters Mountain 1011.
- Refuge limitations: The Small Worlds lacked sufficient development, stockpiles, and space to replace the alliance’s resource-producing territories indefinitely 1129.
Headquarters and Small Worlds
Headquarters
| Location | Description |
|---|---|
| Great Love Alliance Three Sisters | Three initially undeveloped peaks within Starfall Pavilion’s Star Realm. Construction included an alliance leader’s palace and cultivation rooms; later recruitment required extensive additional buildings 760 867 1011. |
| Heavenly Flame Small World | Identified as the headquarters by the late Soul Clan conflict. It sheltered the leadership and most followers during the withdrawal 1129 1132. |
| Central State Central Region headquarters | Newly completed in the afterword, extending more than 300 li amid mountains and water. It was several times more luxurious than the former Star Realm headquarters 1159. |
Six Small Worlds
| Small World | Origin / Association |
|---|---|
| Heavenly Flame Small World | Created by Heavenly Flame Saint upon reaching sainthood; used as alliance headquarters 1129. |
| Burning Flame Small World | Inherited through generations of Burning Flame Valley 1129. |

| Snake-People Small World | Inherited from Cai Lin’s ancestors; remained barren and largely unmanaged 1129. |
External Relations

- Pill Tower — Progressed from a separate organization with shared enemies to a public defense partner, and eventually became one of the eleven Inner Alliance forces 869 954 1075.
