Background / History

Conflict with Loki and the Chitauri

Thor arrived on Earth to seize Loki after Loki’s surrender to Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, forcibly taking his brother from their aircraft. He openly scorned S.H.I.E.L.D.’s claim to protect Earth, arguing that Asgard’s protection had kept the planet from destruction. Loki later deceived Thor into entering his containment cell and had him thrown from the Helicarrier. 153 154

After the Battle of New York, Thor took Loki back to Asgard to face Odin’s judgment. 158

The Dark Elves’ invasion

When the Reality Stone bonded with Jane Foster, Thor sought Wes Erwin’s help after learning that Jane could survive only two more outbursts. He took Jane and Wes to Asgard through the Bifrost, hoping Odin could remove the stone. 198 199

During Malekith’s invasion of Asgard, Thor led the gods’ charge against the Dark Elves’ mothership. He was severely injured when the assault failed, but later fought Malekith alongside Wes. Wes’s mental illusion of Odin created the opening for Thor to strike Malekith with Mjolnir, and further enhancement spells allowed Thor to suppress him. 204 206

Hela and Ragnarok

After Hela escaped, shattered Mjolnir, and expelled Thor and Loki into spatial turbulence, Thor eventually escaped Sakaar and returned to Earth to find the Asgardians wounded and displaced. He promised to reclaim Asgard and restore it. 440 443

Thor gathered volunteers for a mission to kill Hela, leading Loki, Heimdall, Sif, the Three Warriors, Valkyrie, Bruce Banner, and Wes back to Asgard through a secret Space Channel. 444 445

Having lost Mjolnir, Thor recognized that his power came from within rather than from the hammer. He fought Hela using his thunder laws, supported by Wes’s Law of Light and enhancement magic. After Asgard’s fall
