Background / History
Jiang Hang transmigrated into a world where the system accompanying him discovered it had arrived in the wrong place. The former Legendary Assassin System rebranded itself as the Detective System and proposed turning him into a legendary detective to obtain a portion of the world’s origin power. Jiang Hang accepted, but chose to begin with ordinary community cases rather than compete with Conan for high-profile investigations. He founded the Pathfinder Detective Agency and built its early reputation by helping local residents with small requests. 2
He hired Shizuka Sakaki and Koharu Yoshino as his first assistants. Although his outward manner was relaxed, he immediately recognized suspicious motives behind Abe Yutaka’s alibi request, establishing the contrast between his casual work habits and his acute instincts. 5
After the Moon Shadow Island case, Jiang Hang prevented Seiji Aso’s revenge plan and helped him find a new direction in forensic pathology. Around the same period, the System revealed that Jiang Hang was connected to the Pioneer Foundation’s assets, though he could not freely access them without approval. He accepted control of the Beika Art Museum and activated the Industry Template. 18 19 23
His activities expanded beyond conventional detective work. He acquired entertainment businesses, participated in developing an original Ultraman production, rebuilt an Assassin Brotherhood with the Miyano sisters as its first Japanese members, and cultivated recruits such as Yusuke Sakata. 91 95 156 157
Appearance
In his undisguised state, Jiang Hang is a good-looking young Asian man in his early twenties. He deliberately uses disguise, aura suppression, and technological countermeasures to appear ordinary or inconsistent across photographs, making his real appearance difficult to establish. 29 262 276
- His eyes are described as spirited, penetrating, and capable of making others feel seen through. 294
- When Revealing Eagle Vision is active, his gaze becomes noticeably sharp. 95
- He can alter his apparent age, ethnicity, facial structure, build, voice, and overall demeanor through disguise. 20 29 154
- His Presence Concealment can make him seem to fade into a crowd or appear suddenly beside someone without being noticed. 143 153
Personality
Jiang Hang is fundamentally lazy and values comfort. When the agency is quiet, he watches anime, plays mobile games, and checks on his film projects; when work piles up, he deliberately takes time off rather than overextend himself. 75 87 He dislikes maintaining artificial social connections and prefers simple, direct solutions over prolonged political maneuvering. 28 92
Despite this, he consistently helps people in danger and invests in the ambitions of people around him. He trains Koharu in disguise and intelligence gathering, gives Imai Midori an entry point into screenwriting, supports Shizuka’s voice-acting growth, and secures an acting opportunity for veteran suit actor Hidego Matsui. 91
He avoids public attention when possible, often disguising himself for television appearances and declining to make his private face widely known. He also regularly gives police credit for cases rather than using every success for self-promotion. 175 188 193
Jiang Hang recognizes that his actions do not make him conventionally righteous. As his power and influence grow, he increasingly considers building his own forces and absorbing the Black Organization’s accumulated influence rather than merely opposing it. 177
Abilities & Skills
Assassin Bloodline
Jiang Hang’s bloodline enhances his physical abilities and underpins several supernatural perception-based abilities. Its repeated strengthening greatly reduced the physical strain once caused by sustained Eagle Vision. 69 161
- Allows him to endure abnormal amounts of food when necessary. 75
- Supports extreme physical conditioning, stealth, and combat reflexes. 183 298
- Includes a case-rewind function that lets him review the path leading to a criminal’s transformation. 161
Eagle Vision
Eagle Vision is Jiang Hang’s defining investigative ability. It allows him to perceive minute physical details, suspicious behavior, and information hidden from ordinary observation. 20 44
- Detected concealed needle marks on a suspect’s arm and identified a high likelihood of drug involvement. 20
- Distinguished flaws in Seiji Aso’s disguise that were otherwise undetectable. 23
- Differentiates minute differences in hair texture, condition, and origin during crime-scene analysis. 196
- Can identify suspicious people highlighted in red and rapidly narrow large crowds to viable suspects. 159 161
- Revealing Eagle Vision maximizes observation but makes his gaze conspicuously sharp, making it unsuitable for stealth infiltration. 95
Shared Eagle Vision
Through his golden eagle Altair, Jiang Hang can conduct aerial surveillance from a distance. 46
- Provides a bird’s-eye perspective and pursuit speed far beyond his own movement on the ground. 46
- After a bloodline enhancement, his stable connection range increased from roughly two to three hundred meters to over one thousand meters. 76
- Was used to locate the kidnappers’ vehicle and hideout in the TWO-MIX kidnapping case. 76 77
Mind’s Eye
Mind’s Eye gives Jiang Hang a reliable sense of danger and heightened combat awareness. 23
- Allows him to judge threats from subtle expressions and suppressed killing intent. 207
- Supports evasive reactions fast enough to dodge gunfire. 130
- Was developed through repeated lethal training scenarios in the System’s training space. 183
Disguise and Presence Concealment
Jiang Hang’s disguise skill progressed from simple makeup into a versatile identity-alteration tool. His Presence Concealment complements it by reducing the likelihood that others notice or remember him. 5 78
- Advanced Disguise can rapidly create a convincingly different face, voice, age, and ethnicity. 28 29
- Can create temporary identities for others, including facial restructuring, altered hairstyles, and voice-changing devices. 154
- His advanced skill includes practical knowledge for disguising people of any gender or age. 288
- Intermediate Presence Concealment disrupts cameras attempting to record his real face. 78
- Combined with Assassin’s Footwork and stealth techniques, it allows him to stand nearby unnoticed unless an opponent has exceptional intuition. 153
- A plugin from the 2077 World lets him evade or manipulate networked surveillance systems. 246 269
Combat and Martial Arts
Jiang Hang’s combat skills encompass a broad collection of martial arts, trained through the System’s learning space. 53
- The System estimated he would need to master 127 martial arts to advance his combat skills to the advanced level. 53
- Defeated Takagi Wataru with nearly twenty different techniques during a single sparring session. 130
- Can defeat groups of ordinary thugs while deliberately limiting his strength to avoid serious injury. 263
- Uses Baji Quan, whose Fierce Tiger Climbs the Mountain can inflict broken ribs or death if used without restraint. 198
- Demonstrated the ability to defeat armed yakuza, overpower Hijiri Fukujo’s swordsmanship, and evade a drawn sword at close range. 263 267
Poisons and Nonlethal Restraint
Jiang Hang is a master poison-maker whose knowledge was acquired through harsh training-space experimentation. 20 75
- Can identify common toxins and evidence of drug use at a glance. 20
- Carries and uses tailored sleeping drugs, paralyzing gas, smoke bombs, flashbangs, and electric-shock darts. 74 106 114
- Generally favors restraint over lethal force when dealing with ordinary criminals. 74 224
Investigation, Forensics, and Hacking
Beyond supernatural perception, Jiang Hang trains practical investigative and technical skills. 80 148
- Possesses basic forensic knowledge sufficient to estimate a killer’s build, exercise habits, and method of trace removal. 148
- Uses interrogation skill and psychological observation to break suspects’ false confidence. 190 196
- Improved Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department network defenses and assisted the Cybercrime Division with online fraud cases. 297
- Can alter or shield digital records and camera images, protecting both his own identity and those of his associates. 262
