Chi Yuan clutched her chest with one hand, blood soaking her robe. She carried her sword in her right hand, her face pale as paper, blood still staining the corners of her lips as she staggered onward.
Her eyes were filled with panic and unease, like a wounded little rabbit. Where was the pressure of a True Lord expert, where was her former lofty pride? Her wary gaze swept the surroundings as she occasionally gritted her teeth and swung her sword, cutting down the exotic beasts rushing at her.
Yet with every sword she swung, her face grew a shade paler, and blood kept spilling from the corners of her mouth.
But she did not dare stop. She cast a frightened glance behind her, then staggered forward, clenching her teeth and not daring to let her feet pause for even an instant.
Boom!
A thunderous crash sounded ahead, as if something massive had struck the ground. She abruptly halted and looked forward in terror.
In the faint glow, a figure stood amid the darkness.
"Who is it?"
Hope flared in Chi Yuan's eyes as she cried out urgently.
Buzz!
Suddenly, a saber cry rang out. A terrifying saber intent descended, and a fierce Blade Light tore through the black tide as it slashed toward her.
Chi Yuan's expression changed drastically. She hurriedly raised her sword to block, but how could she possibly withstand it? Her longsword was knocked flying, and she spat blood in midair before crashing heavily to the ground. She slid a hundred meters across the earth, plowing a deep furrow into the ground.
She struggled to rise, only to cough up another mouthful of blood.
"Eight... Desolations!"
Chi Yuan gritted her teeth. That saber intent made her think of Eight Desolations. "Come out! I know it's you!"
