Background / History

Early Relationships and Rise to Power

Spirit Hall nurtured Bibi Dong as its Holy Maiden. In her youth, she had a romantic relationship with Yu Xiaogang, which Qian Xunji interfered with. She later became Pope and retained an idealized memory of Xiaogang long after their separation 142 183 316.

After Tang Hao severely injured Qian Xunji, Bibi Dong took the opportunity to devour him. She nevertheless maintained Spirit Hall’s hostility toward the Clear Sky Sect because it served her future plans and the institution’s dignity 216 260.

Conflict over the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect

Bibi Dong became suspicious of Qian Renxue’s growing contact with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. She recalled Salas over corruption allegations and assigned Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo to monitor the sect from Heaven Dou Temple. She also warned her daughter that Ning Fengzhi might be using her 119 120.

Qian Renxue’s proposed alliance required handing over the two elders. Li Xun had deliberately chosen this demand partly to expose the limits of Qian Renxue’s authority and deepen her disagreement with Bibi Dong 106 119.

During her official visit to Heaven Dou City, Bibi Dong negotiated the sect’s public announcement of its affiliation with Spirit Hall. She regarded its submission as advantageous and believed absolute strength would prevent Ning Fengzhi’s calculations from becoming a serious threat 197.

Yu Xiaogang’s Rescue and Rejection

When Tang San sought help for the imprisoned Yu Xiaogang, Bibi Dong ordered Chrysanthemum Douluo to arrange his rescue. She also investigated Tang San’s hidden weapons. Her intervention directly opposed Qian Renxue’s decision to execute Xiaogang, worsening the mother–daughter conflict 141 143.

Spirit Hall subsequently sought hidden-weapon blueprints or repayment of the ten-million-Gold-Soul-Coin ransom. Neither Tang San nor Xiaogang agreed to these demands 156 158.

Bibi Dong finally received Xiaogang privately after returning to Spirit City. His request for guidance on Twin Martial Souls, his defense of Tang San, and information supplied by Qian Renxue undermined her idealized memories of him. She insisted on being addressed as Pope, injured him with a casual strike, and ordered him never to appear before her again 215 216.

Tournament and Succession Disputes

At the Advancement Tournament, Bibi Dong stopped Li Xun’s attack on the defeated Tang San. Qian Renxue challenged her intervention and demanded that she decide how to handle Tang San’s Clear Sky Sect identity. Tang Hao’s subsequent escape further damaged trust: Li Xun suspected Bibi Dong’s weak performance was deliberate, rather than an accurate reflection of her strength 207 208 209.

The tournament’s three spirit-bone prizes were intended to give Hu Liena and her teammates a legitimate opportunity to obtain valuable equipment. By the finals, however, Bibi Dong recognized that Li Xun’s improvement had left her team without a realistic chance of victory 221.

Internal rumors that Hu Liena would eventually inherit the papacy created another source of resentment for Qian Renxue, the Qian family’s legitimate heir 242.

Divine Examinations and the Beast Tides

Bibi Dong opposed Heaven Dou’s rapid conquest of Star Luo because both her divine examination and her larger plans required continued war. A swift unification threatened to bring peace and leave Qian Renxue controlling Heaven Dou independently 252 305.

After encountering powerful beasts in the Star Dou Great Forest, she secured Qian Daoliu’s support for an expedition. Fifteen Titled Douluo attacked the beasts, provoking Di Tian’s awakening and a retaliatory Beast Tide. Bibi Dong obtained Zi Ji’s ring, but Spirit Hall lost five Titled Douluo and nearly a thousand Soul Masters 316 317 318 322.

She defended her actions and threatened to leave Spirit Hall, exploiting its need for her strength against another Beast Tide. She also demanded Heaven Dou’s incorporation into Spirit Hall and Li Xun’s continued residence there. Qian Daoliu’s intervention prevented her from enforcing these demands 323.

Unrestricted Rule and Retreat

After devouring Qian Daoliu and reaching peak Rank 99, Bibi Dong controlled Spirit Hall without his restraint. She ordered the elimination of Star Luo’s remaining resistance, demanded that Heaven Dou surrender Li Xun and Qian Renxue, and sent members of the Angel Legion who retained their old allegiance to the front lines 352 353.

Li Xun and Bo Saixi confronted her in Spirit City. His teleportation and enormous Thousand Hands Buddha threatened the city itself, forcing Bibi Dong to agree not to deploy troops against Heaven Dou and to surrender Snake Lance Douluo. She chose to prioritize her God Examination rather than an immediate battle 353 354.

A second Beast Tide breached Spirit City and forced her faction to retreat into Star Luo territory. Di Tian later defeated her above Heaven Star City, tearing her body apart. Reports declared her dead, but she survived and concealed herself in a prepared underground refuge 358 373 375 397.

Godhood and Death

Bibi Dong emerged from hiding as the Rakshasa God. She gathered Spirit Hall’s surviving forces, ordered them back to Spirit City, and pursued Di Tian to settle their earlier conflict. Her divine spatial ability prevented him from escaping as easily as before 397 398.

Li Xun then challenged her inside Pope Palace. He killed her supporting experts and repeatedly defeated her resurrected body, exhausting her divine power. Bibi Dong burned her divine soul and pushed her godhead until it shattered, but still could not overcome him 401 402 403.

When she attempted suicide, Li Xun stopped her and brought her to Qian Renxue. Their final confrontation exposed Bibi Dong’s regrets and love for her daughter. She died afterward, and Li Xun preserved her body with Ultimate Ice 403.

Appearance

  • Human appearance: Beautiful features, a graceful figure, and an icy, dignified bearing 197 215.
  • Papal attire: Brilliant golden ceremonial robes, a Purple Gold Crown, and the Pope Scepter 221.
  • Spider transformation: Purple-black armor covers her body during her spider-based Martial Soul Avatar 317.
  • Soul Eating Spider Emperor form: Sharp black carapace and hands transformed into scythe-like spider-leg blades 372.
  • Divine manifestation: Enormous purple wings appear when she reveals her godhood to Spirit Hall’s survivors 397.

Personality

Bibi Dong usually conceals emotion behind formal authority. Years of political struggle allow her to maintain a composed expression even when Yu Xiaogang’s name visibly affects her. She also insists on papal forms of address in intimate, emotionally charged conversations 141 216.

Her leadership combines calculation with coercion. She monitors potential rivals, attempts to control Heaven Dou’s expansion, and uses Spirit Hall’s dependence on her combat strength as leverage. After becoming a god, she privately regards her followers as tools whose opinions matter less than their usefulness 119 305 323 397.

Her affection is selective but genuine. She seeks treatment for Hu Liena’s altered personality and even approaches Qian Daoliu with a pleading undertone on her disciple’s behalf. Her feelings toward Qian Renxue are more conflicted: hatred and familial affection coexist, leaving her unable to express herself during their reunions 311 312 276.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

  • Possesses a spider-based First Martial Soul and the Soul Eating Spider Emperor as her Second Martial Soul 317 372.
  • Describes her First Martial Soul’s skill set as predominantly utility-oriented rather than especially powerful in direct combat 318.
  • Completes her Second Martial Soul with five black and four red rings, greatly strengthening her combat capability 352 353.

Spider Emperor Avatar and Doppelganger

  • Her eighth-ring ability creates an avatar with 100% of her original body’s power 317.
  • Can leave a doppelganger active while her main body switches to the Second Martial Soul 353 358.
  • Uses Death Spiderweb Restraint alongside her avatar during the forest expedition 317.

Undying Body

  • Allows repeated resurrection after otherwise fatal bodily destruction 372 402.
  • Its resurrection can be broken by god-level power; Di Tian’s attacks nevertheless leave her with unusually slow-healing injuries 372.
  • Resurrection remains limited by available power: Li Xun’s repeated attacks nearly exhaust her divine reserves 402.

Domains and Spatial Techniques

  • Death Domain and Divine Slaughter’s Domain can be layered to strengthen her aura 373.
  • Abyss Cut of Space Tear: Releases crescent-shaped blades that distort space. She uses that distortion to interfere with the accuracy of Di Tian’s Dragon God Claw 373.
  • Inverted Space: Creates an upside-down battlefield, exchanges her position with an opponent’s, and obstructs Di Tian’s spatial escape 398 401.
  • Inverted Space does not prevent Li Xun from using his own instantaneous movement 402.

Eternal Creation

  • Unleashes a cross-shaped slash with her transformed scythes 373.
  • Bibi Dong considers wounding a powerful beast with this skill sufficient to create a possible path to victory; Di Tian instinctively avoids taking it directly 358 373.

Rakshasa Divine Power

  • Inherits a divine authority associated with evil thoughts 401.
  • Channels Evil Thoughts through the Rakshasa Magic Scythe as screaming faces, arms, and other attacking forms 403.
  • Can burn her divine soul to intensify resentment and increase her attack output 402 403.
  • Overexerting this power ultimately shatters her godhead 403.

Torso-Bone Beam Attack

  • Uses “Rakshasa Ghost Eyes Scorch Heaven and Earth, Slaughter Three Thousand Worlds in a Single Breath” through her torso bone 402.
  • Divine power enlarges the attack into numerous red beams several meters thick 402.
  • Li Xun counters the beams with reflective ice mirrors 402.

Spiritual Perception

  • Uses Spiritual Power to search across Spirit City, though she cannot locate people removed by Li Xun’s teleportation 354.
  • After godhood, can perceive malice among her followers 401.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Pope Scepter — Carried during audiences and public ceremonies 141 221.
  • Rakshasa Magic Scythe — Divine artifact obtained upon ascension; a massive purple-black weapon taller than Bibi Dong herself 397.
  • Torso Spirit Bone — Channels her divine red-beam attack 402.
  • Storage Soul Tool / Ring — Holds clothing, weapons, and spirit bones. After her death, Li Xun gives it to Qian Renxue; its contents include Di Tian’s External Soul Bone 305 403.
  • Tournament prize spirit bones — The Spirit Condensation Wisdom Skull, Explosive Burning Flame Right Arm Bone, and Rapid Advance Wind Chasing Left Leg Bone. The skull is fifty thousand years old 221.

Relationships

  • Qian Renxue — Daughter and political rival. Their conflict concerns Yu Xiaogang, succession, Heaven Dou’s independence, and Qian Daoliu’s death; their final reunion reveals Bibi Dong’s enduring affection and regrets 143 242 352 403.
  • Qian Xunji — Former teacher who interfered with her relationship with Xiaogang. Bibi Dong devoured him after Tang Hao wounded him 183 208 216.
  • Qian Daoliu — Grand Venerable and counterweight to her authority. Their disputes eventually end with Bibi Dong devouring him 260 323 352.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Former lover whom she initially protects. Their reunion destroys her idealized image of him and ends in rejection 141 215 216.
  • Hu Liena — Beloved disciple and designated Holy Maiden. Bibi Dong seeks help for her mental condition; rumors of Hu Liena’s future succession further alienate Qian Renxue 242 311 312 375.
  • Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo — Loyal elders who execute her surveillance and rescue orders, even when those orders oppose Qian Renxue 119 143 397.
  • Ning Fengzhi — Sect leader whose intelligence she distrusts despite his sect’s formal submission to Spirit Hall 197 305.
  • Li Xun — Principal opponent who resists her control of Heaven Dou, defeats her divine form, and arranges her final meeting with Qian Renxue 354 401 403.
  • Di Tian — Beast enemy who forces her into hiding. She pursues him after attaining godhood 373 397 398.
  • Tang San — Xiaogang’s disciple. Her initial assistance gives way to refusal to support the growth of Tang Hao’s son, whom she regards as a future threat 141 216.
