"Taking on eight alone without falling behind—you really are someone I have high hopes for."

As Li Weide passed Tom, his left hand effortlessly slipped through the Shield Charm surrounding Tom and gave his shoulder a firm pat.

"What are you doing here?" Tom asked with a stern face.

"Hmm... I happened to wander over this way, then I sensed your magical fluctuations were unusually intense, so I couldn't help coming to take a look... Hey, that Bat-Bogey Hex was used pretty well."

As he spoke, Li Weide studied the unfortunate students sprawled all over the place with great interest.

"Where's Annie?" Noticing that Li Weide had come alone, Tom could not help asking.

Annie clearly had a problem, and her target seemed to be Li Weide. Tom had seen that much too.

That was why he was curious about why Annie was not by his side.

"Hmm... When we passed a staircase, it happened to move, and she happened not to keep up, so we got separated for the moment," Li Weide said casually.

Tom knew exactly what Li Weide was capable of, so Annie had most likely been quietly shaken off somewhere along the way.

Sure enough, that tiny bit of worry he had felt earlier had been completely unnecessary. A scourge lived for a thousand years—how could this guy possibly stumble so easily? "You two... are you treating us like we're invisible?" the older student said coldly.

He had tolerated these two bastards for long enough. If not for the fact that Li Weide had casually cast a Shield Charm, making him wary—

he would have already hurled several nasty curses at them.

"Who are you?" Li Weide asked.

"Andre Shafik," the older student answered proudly.

"So you're from the Shafik family..." Li Weide nodded, then smiled.
