Background / History

Qin Yu entered Crimson Blood Mansion's waters by accident and killed the son of Sang Mo. Sang Mo's pursuit drew in Crimson Blood Mansion, but Zha Hong used the conflict to eliminate Sang Mo and revoke the wanted notices against Qin Yu and Hei Yu. Seeking to befriend Qin Yu, Zha Hong repeatedly arranged fights against his Nascent Soul-stage guardians; Qin Yu's strength advanced rapidly over the following two years. Before Qin Yu departed, Zha Hong entrusted him with a jade sword that served as a key to the Heavenly Immortal Mansion. 264

Qin Yu traveled with Uncle Lan, Jiang Li, and Hou Fei until Jiang Li was forcibly recalled to her clan by her father. Her cousin Zhou Xian treated Qin Yu as an unworthy mortal and threatened him over his relationship with her. Though devastated by Jiang Li's departure, Qin Yu resolved to become strong enough to reach her. 269 270
