Background / History
Tang Chen was the former Sect Master of the Clear Sky Sect and the figure credited with raising it to the position of the world’s number one sect. Alongside Qian Daoliu, he was regarded as one of the two great peaks of the Soul Master world. His disappearance left the sect without its strongest pillar and contributed to its eventual decline into seclusion. 8 174
Seeking godhood, Tang Chen undertook the Asura God Trial. He was ambushed by the Rakshasa God’s scheme and controlled by the Blood Red Nine-Headed Bat King for thirty-seven years, wandering without clarity while his body deteriorated. Huang Tian eventually restored his sanity, broke the Asura God’s hidden scheme, and gave Tang Chen a cultivation method that allowed him to recover. 172 178 186
After regaining himself, Tang Chen spent three years guarding Slaughter City under Huang Tian’s orders. He repaired his damaged body, regained his lost cultivation, and reached the Demigod Title Douluo realm. 9 178
During his final breakthrough in Slaughter City, the Rakshasa God’s Remnant Thought attempted to possess him. Huang Tian suppressed and purified it, allowing Tang Chen to complete his divine-power conversion and become a Third-Rank Deity. At Tang Chen’s request, Huang Tian then destroyed Slaughter City, ending Tang Chen’s connection to the place. 172
Tang Chen reunited with Tang Hao, Tang Yuehua, and later Tang Xiao after decades apart. He returned to the Clear Sky Sect, reprimanded its elders for their treatment of Tang Hao, but ultimately chose reconciliation and renewal over revenge. 173 178 179

Personality
Tang Chen was once intensely focused on cultivation and godhood, to the point that he neglected his family and remained separated from Bo Saixi for decades to keep his promise of returning only after becoming a god. He later recognizes this regret openly. 173 186
