Background / History
Landfall enters Spirit Candle through a friendship slot obtained from his son, Li Miao. During character creation, he chooses a balanced body type, then follows Li Miao’s advice to invest entirely in Spirit and pursue a mage build. His first request to Rogue is for a sword, but Rogue refuses, telling the new Flame not to “bite off more than he can chew.” 34 35
Initially unable to use his Wooden Staff effectively, Landfall learns through repeated experimentation rather than instruction. He eventually fires a guided spell orb into a Mudflat Merman’s back, badly injuring it and discovering the appeal of mage combat. 35
His early progress is marked by difficult encounters in the Nearshore Cave. The Howling Sea Anemone repeatedly kills him, leaving him intensely vindictive; after finally defeating one, he stomps on its fading body in celebration. He later obtains Bloodstone Burst from a Bloodstone Devilfish and begins farming Nearshore Specters despite their gaze-based interruptions and close-range threat. 41 52
After igniting Warfire, Landfall develops into a veteran ranged combatant. He and Li Miao repeatedly explore dangerous regions together, from Unknown Island and Tasolomo to the Long Night Domain, Meteorite Chaos, and Mithrilos Academy. 90 165 675 735 925
Personality
Landfall is loud, proud, and quick to complain, especially when denied loot, forced into danger, or embarrassed by Li Miao. He frequently calls himself the party’s carry, becomes visibly frustrated when his spells fail, and reacts dramatically to stronger enemies or equipment he cannot obtain. 202 367 752
Despite his impatience, he is persistent. He repeatedly returns to difficult areas after dying, practices his spellcasting, and continues searching for stronger mage equipment and spellcraft. His preference for ranged magic does not prevent him from enduring dangerous close-quarters situations when necessary. 35 52 165
Landfall is also opportunistic and equipment-focused. He prioritizes the potential of new spells over support gear, eagerly claims mage-exclusive rewards, and is willing to use exaggerated filial behavior toward Li Miao to secure valuable equipment. 687 761
Abilities & Skills
Mage Spellcasting
Landfall’s primary combat style centers on casting and directing spell projectiles with a staff.
- Learns to shape and guide spell orbs rather than relying on simple game controls. 35
- Uses ranged attacks to kite monsters, though he must still dodge and manage casting interruptions. 52
- His early mage build heavily favors Spirit over physical attributes. 35
- Is capable of significant sustained magical damage as a veteran player, though highly defensive opponents can withstand his barrage. 367
Bloodstone Burst
A blood-red explosive spell acquired after obtaining the Spell Battle Ash of a Bloodstone Devilfish.
- Tears apart a Nearshore Specter with a direct hit. 52
- Has substantial windup, making it less suitable for rapid basic attacks. 93
- Remains one of his core offensive spells during the Iron Mask Warlock stage. 93
Iron Mask Warlock Warfire
Landfall fuses an Iron Mask Warlock Fire Seed after reaching Ember rank.
- Grants access to the Warfire path of Iron Mask Warlock. 90 221
- Uses Execution Step as a mobility and offensive tool. 93
- Later learns or equips spells including Executioner’s Blade, Meteors Starlight, and Metelos’s Displacement. 221
Miteros Torrent
A powerful torrent-style mage spell used against major enemies.
- Cuts Chaos Without Form’s vitality by roughly half before the enemy enters its formless state. 715
- Is strong enough to be Landfall’s preferred probing attack against the Soul of Long Slumber. 745
- Can be mitigated almost completely by extreme defensive builds, as demonstrated by Brother Bang Ying. 367
Dragon Starfall
A high-tier area-of-effect spell derived from ancient dragon-related spellcraft.
- Calls down massive meteors against large targets and groups. 687 735
- Kills the Meteorite Fall instantly even after Landfall is killed during the casting process. 735
- Continues after his death and does not distinguish friend from foe once he can no longer control it. 735
- Is powerful enough that allies may ask him to conserve it until the battlefield situation is clear. 841
Starlight Dragon Qi
A bloodline mutation triggered by Ancient Dragon Coagulated Blood.
- Moderately increases spell damage. 704
- Slightly increases Spirit consumption during spellcasting. 704
- Has a small chance to summon starlight assistance. 704
- Grants a trace of dragon qi, Spirit +6, and eligibility for certain unique skills. 704
Become Intangible
A defensive spell that transforms Landfall into a semi-transparent, ethereal state.
- Allows physical, spell, and faith-based attacks to pass through him under normal circumstances. 676 716
- Protects him from the Hanging Bat Knight’s purple bat swarm and direct charges. 676
- Has casting windup and recovery windows that can be exploited. 716
- Is ineffective against Chaos Without Form, which reveals that the spell originally came from it. 716
Siege and Battlefield Support
Landfall can provide decisive long-range firepower during large-scale encounters.
- Successfully charges and fires a Spell Cannon to intercept an incoming meteorite. 202
- Earns Niuniu’s praise for destroying the meteorite alone. 202
- Uses magical area attacks to clear Rust Armor Ghosts and living corpses when conserving Dragon Starfall. 841
