Argus’s planetary formatting began as Creation Power spread across the world, while the Eredar witnessed their homeland’s renewal. At the Burning Throne, Velen and Kil'jaeden completed their final battle and vanished together into the Creation Power.
Diakum said farewell to Argus as the Star Soul entered rebirth, then told the Eredar leaders that their Eternal Life had been severed and set out a trial to restore it. The chapter ended with Diakum preparing to lead the Eredar back to Argus in three days.
Argus finished its reshaping, and the Eredar prepared to return to their restored homeland. As dawn broke, Diakum carved a memorial to the fallen, said farewell to his loved ones, and passed through a mysterious door, promising to return.
With Sargeras defeated and the Burning Legion's command structure in ruins, the Toranar Swarm devastated demon recruiting worlds while rival demon lords and fleet commanders abandoned coordinated resistance. A mysterious visitor urged Matriarch Shal'Ras to unite nearby courts and rebuild the Legion, offering support in exchange for a future rescue mission.
Matron Shal'Ras discovered that the Nathrezim were gathering demon forces under the promise of Denathrius's protection while multiple primal factions invaded the Twisting Nether. Meanwhile, Sargeras heard the demons' pleas during his operation and struggled with whether to embrace destruction as the Lord of Fel.
Aggramar left the Pantheon to embrace fel energy as its new god of ordered destruction, then challenged the Primus to a duel over the Mawsworn’s expansion into the Twisting Nether. The chapter ended as the Primus accepted, with Aggramar seeking an Enemy Breaker sword for his future fight against Sargeras.
Illidan led the Illidari into the Twisting Nether to build a force of demon-hunting commanders, while Aggramar gathered demons under his banner. Sargeras returned as a god of destruction, rallying the demons and leaving the Nathrezim driven from their fleet.
Elune and Norgannon discussed the Black Sun and the dangers of Sargeras’s return as the factions debated whether to keep invading the Twisting Nether. They agreed on Arcane observation posts and a framework to prevent the Six Forces from coercing star souls, though Norgannon recognized that the rules still left room for covert influence.
One year after Argus’s rebirth, Jaide learned that Diakum had not disappeared but had spent the year secretly living with Nali and the Twins. As dawn approached, Diakum began telling them about the gods he had met during a seven-day absence and his former place among them.
Diakum discovered that the pirate captain Black Shaw was the Silent One who had interfered with his planned rebirth and restored memories of his past. After learning the Brotherhood of Shadows sent innocent souls into tragic worlds for its amusement, Diakum agreed to investigate and consider leading a revolt against its elders.
Black Shaw manipulated Diakum into believing the Brotherhood of Shadows was abusing souls, then sent him to confront Raven and the Death God. Diakum recognized Black Shaw’s scheme but went along with it, and the chapter ended as he prepared to fight the two leaders in the tavern.
After Dick returned to the Brotherhood of Shadows, he fought the God of Death and Raven in Black Shaw’s tavern, leaving the building in ruins. Saiber Hawk arrived, freed the combatants, and began punishing them for destroying his home as the Brotherhood’s members rushed in to support Dick as their new Boss.
Black Shaw raided Mystery House while the Brotherhood of Shadows fought Saiber, then used the stolen Wall of Origin fragments to draw the mysterious spirits into revealing their interest in the Lost Souls. Saiber and the battered Brotherhood arrived, and Diakum vowed to rescue the abducted souls.
Diakum learned the Brotherhood’s true purpose: protecting their homeland and the multiverse from a future breach of the Wall of Origin. After Saiber uncovered the kidnappers’ secrets, the Brotherhood prepared to rescue their captured fellow townsfolk and confront the forces behind the plot.
The Brotherhood attacked a dark dimension to rescue stolen Lost Souls, while Diakum learned that the enemy sought their spiritual radiance. Back at Mystery House, Dream God invited Diakum to choose a Lost Soul and guide his new life, but Mason discovered a peculiar soul among the rescued.
Diakum chose to become guardian to a mutated Lost Soul and named him Ash'adar, planning to place him on a rebirth path suited to his altered nature. Back on Argus, Diakum faced questions from his lovers about his former-life relationships, then urged them to set the dispute aside for the approaching Summer Solstice Festival.
Diakum attended the Eredar’s Summer Solstice Festival, where Velen and Kil'jaeden warned him that the Nathrezim were trying to free Sire Denathrius and might join forces with Sargeras. After agreeing to investigate the Nathrezim’s strange replication of their kind, Diakum learned that Illidan Stormrage had gone missing after an ambush in the Twisting Nether.
Diakum uncovered Denathrius’s role in Illidan Stormrage’s ambush and prepared to secretly join the rescue effort. Meanwhile, Denathrius ordered Tichondrius to withdraw and lie dormant, planning to cultivate a future ally who could free him from his seal.
Illidan fought off Blackflame Demons in the Twisting Nether but neared a dangerous, premature ascension as the aspect of self-destruction threatened to overwhelm him. Malfurion and Tyrande reached him in time, and Tyrande restrained Illidan before turning to address the honored one hidden within Malfurion.
Illidan woke in High Heaven after Diakum purified his inner demon and sealed his connection to fel energy, preventing his premature ascension. He learned that Queen Azshara could help forge his vessel, while Diakum stayed behind to hear Hogger debate whether High Heaven should welcome beast-like believers.
Azshara tested her Magic Web, a system that filtered primal forces so ordinary people could learn to wield power, and explained that she intended to spread it across the Star Sea without charging its users. Illidan recognized that their dependence on her would make them her subjects and suspected she sought to rise beyond the primal forces; Azshara then learned that Pokopok had contacted her and returned a supreme object needed to build the Magic Web.
Garrosh and Yorin secured Shattrath City before Eredath and Lelan’s wedding, while guests discussed Draenor’s threats and a Dwarf civil war. As the ceremony approached, Lelan mourned her parents, Diakum comforted her and reunited with Nali, and Diakum sent a blessing to a young man beginning a journey in another Azeroth.
