Background

Lin Yao was born in Daoxiang Village near Heaven Dou City to Lin Yuyang, a Green Peak Sword Soul Ancestor, and Zhao Wan, a Starlight Soul Elder. His name, meaning “radiance,” was chosen because the stars were unusually bright on the day of his birth. A transmigrator with memories of a modern past life, he grew up unusually mature and trained his body through diet and exercise before his Martial Soul awakening. 1

His parents returned to their hometown to raise him away from conflict. Their strength protected the village, while their concern for his future instilled in Lin Yao a resolve to become strong enough to preserve his family’s happiness. 1 2

During his Martial Soul awakening, Lin Yao connected with alternate selves from other worlds through a shared inner palace later known as the Star Palace. The connection allowed the Lin Yaos to exchange memories, physical strength, spiritual power, knowledge, and cultivation gains. 3 196

He awakened the Star Sword and the Star Body, two mutually resonant top-tier Martial Souls, along with Innate Full Soul Power. Recognizing the danger posed by his talent, Lin Yao publicly revealed only the Star Sword and sought the protection of a major power. 4 7

At age five or six, Lin Yao is described as a handsome child with a tender face and eyes that carry unusual maturity. As his strength rises, his appearance and bearing become increasingly striking. 1 112
