Boom!
A Knight-class Honkai Beast charging at high speed smashed a huge hole through the building. Its enormous body got... stuck there, unable to advance or retreat, looking utterly pathetic.
"Okay, now run!" Kiana skipped and leaped around the Honkai Beast, then used her inborn brute strength to hoist Xina, who had been watching from the sidelines in the corner, over her shoulder and circle out through the alley.
Watching the Honkai Beast grow farther and farther away, Xina, who was being carried over Kiana's shoulder like a burlap sack, seemed to have a giant question mark written across her tiny face.
She did not understand, but she was deeply shaken.
Using the complicated terrain to leave the Knight-class Honkai Beast far behind, Kiana finally put Xina down on an empty street. Wiping the light sweat from her forehead, she comforted Xina, "Whew, don't worry. We're safe now!"
"Yeah, yeah, exactly. That was really close." Xina nodded blankly and asked, "So where should we go next!?"
"Of course, we should get out of this city full of Honkai Beasts first, then contact the outside world!"
As she spoke, Kiana took some food and water from a roadside convenience store and handed them to Xina. "Here, eat something first and restore your energy! We still have a long way to go!"
"Thanks..." Xina took the food Kiana handed her and symbolically ate a few bites. Then she turned her head and witnessed something that shattered her Herrscher worldview.
From the moment she tore open the package and took a few perfunctory bites, only a minute or two had passed, yet the wrappers in front of Kiana had already piled into a small mountain.
The food taken from the convenience store was vanishing into Kiana at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"That's a little scary..." Xina swallowed, trembling as she unscrewed a bottle of mineral water, intending to take a sip to calm herself down.
After eating and drinking her fill, Kiana stood up and twisted her joints a few times. It was easy to see from her nimble movements that eating so much had not affected her mobility at all.
Moreover, judging by the way she looked, she really intended to carry Xina out of Singapore herself.
"Actually... I can walk by myself..." Xina weakly held out a hand in front of herself, afraid Kiana would carry her off on an impromptu journey.
"It's okay, I—"
"Kiana, you really made me look for you."
A somewhat flat voice sounded from nearby. The two, who had just been discussing their escape plan, immediately stopped talking and looked toward the sound. A figure was slowly walking toward them along the curb.
The newcomer wore a fitted Butler Suit. Her gray hair was tied behind her in a neat wolf-tail braid, and the red-rimmed glasses on her refined face added a trace of authority, making her seem exceptionally dependable.
"Class Monitor! Where did you go? I looked for you in the hotel forever!" Kiana excitedly ran over and told her about everything that had happened.
"Alright, alright, I'm here now." Fu Hua wore a serious expression. After briefly encouraging Kiana, she walked over to Xina and stared intently at her through those cold eyes behind her glasses. "Miss, have we met somewhere before!?"
Huh! Did she find me out?
Fu Hua's stare made Xina's scalp tingle, and she instinctively took half a step back. But she quickly came to her senses.
What a joke. Her ability to conceal Honkai energy fluctuations was extremely powerful; even instruments could not detect anything wrong.
How could someone possibly see through her disguise with the naked eye alone?
With that thought, Xina gained a little more confidence. She looked resentfully at Fu Hua, gritted her teeth, and sneered.
"Yes, perhaps we met in the storage room of some hotel! I wonder who was so awful that after knocking out a helpless young woman, they even threw her into a storage room. The cockroaches and rats in there were terrifying."
"!"
Now the pressure was on Fu Hua. She had not expected the world to be so small—the victim she had knocked out because of her mission was standing perfectly unharmed right in front of her, and had even recognized her.
"Class Monitor, what are you two talking about? Knocking someone out? A storage room...?"
Kiana, utterly confused, moved closer with an eager look as she watched the obvious tension between the two. Just as honest Fu Hua was about to explain what had happened and admit her mistake, Xina spoke before her.
"Miss Kiana, it's nothing. Your class monitor and I merely crossed paths before. What I said just now was only reminiscing about old times. Isn't that right... Clas~s Mon~i~tor?"
The deliberately drawn-out ending made Fu Hua's eye twitch, but under Kiana's suspicious gaze, she could only nod stiffly.
"I see..." Kiana looked at Fu Hua, then at Xina. Though she could tell the two were hiding something from her, she was not the sort to casually pry into other people's secrets.
Since there was no rush to get moving, Kiana simply went into the nearby convenience store to pick out some portable snacks.
"Miss, there was a reason for what happened, but... I was indeed in the wrong. I apologize to you first."
After Kiana left, Fu Hua gave Xina a slight bow and apologized with great sincerity.
"..." Xina looked at the woman before her, who exuded danger at every moment, but said nothing more. She merely responded blandly and waved a hand. "Forget it. It wasn't a big deal. I forgive you."
Once Kiana had finished choosing snacks and emerged from the convenience store, the group of three officially set out toward the edge of the city.
As she watched Fu Hua's back, a trace of confusion flashed in Xina's eyes. Fu Hua clearly looked like nothing more than a slightly stronger Valkyrie, so why did she give even a Herrscher such an abnormally dangerous feeling?
Xina thought about it for a long time but could not figure it out, so she chose the most straightforward method...
"Watch out!"
Fu Hua, walking at the very front of the group, suddenly stopped. Grabbing Xina and Kiana with one hand each, she swiftly pulled them back.
Bang!
The next second, several towering Honkai Beasts smashed through the building and charged out from inside.
