Boom!
The building was smashed open by a Knight-class Honkai Beast charging at high speed, and the massive creature got... stuck, flailing awkwardly in its predicament.
"Alright, now's our chance to run!" Kiana hopped and skipped around the Honkai Beast, using her natural brute strength to hoist the bewildered Xina from the corner and slip out through the alley.
Watching the Honkai Beast grow smaller in the distance, Xina—slung over Kiana's shoulder like a sack of flour—had a tiny face that seemed to be covered in giant question marks.
She didn't understand, but she was deeply impressed.
After using the complex terrain to leave the Knight-class Honkai Beast far behind, Kiana finally set Xina down in an empty street. Wiping the thin sweat from her forehead, she reassured her, "Phew, don't worry, we're safe now!"
"Yeah, right, right, that was close," Xina nodded blankly, then asked, "So, where do we go next?"
"First, we get out of this city full of Honkai Beasts, then make contact with the outside world!"
With that, Kiana grabbed some food and water from a convenience store by the roadside and handed them to Xina. "Here, eat something to regain your strength! We've still got a long way to go."
"Thanks..." Xina took the food Kiana offered and took a few symbolic bites, then turned her head to witness a sight that shattered her Herrscher worldview.
From the moment she tore open the wrapper and took a few bites to tide herself over, only a minute or two had passed, yet the pile of wrappers in front of Kiana had already grown into a small mountain.
The food taken from the convenience store was being devoured by Kiana at a visible rate.
"That's... kind of terrifying," Xina swallowed hard, trembling as she unscrewed a bottle of water to take a calming sip.
Full and satisfied, Kiana stood up and twisted her joints a few times. From her agile movements, it was clear that eating so much hadn't hindered her mobility at all.
And from the look of it, she genuinely intended to carry Xina out of Singapore on her own.
"I can actually walk by myself..." Xina weakly raised a hand in front of her, dreading the idea of Kiana hoisting her for a spontaneous journey.
"It's fine, I—"
"Kiana, you've been quite hard to find."
A calm, slightly flat voice sounded not far away. The two who had just been discussing their escape plan stopped talking immediately and looked toward the source. A figure was walking along the curb toward them.
The newcomer wore a well-fitted Butler Suit, with gray hair tied into a neat wolf tail at the back. A pair of red-rimmed glasses added a touch of authority to her refined features, giving off a very reliable vibe.
"Class monitor! Where did you go? I looked for you all over the hotel!" Kiana rushed over excitedly, recounting everything that had happened.
"Alright, alright, I'm here now, aren't I?" Fu Hua said with a serious expression. After briefly encouraging Kiana, she approached Xina, fixing her with a sharp gaze through her glasses. "Miss, have we met somewhere before?"
Huh? Did she see through me?
Xina felt a chill under Fu Hua's stare and instinctively stepped back half a pace, but quickly regained her composure.
No way. Her ability to conceal Honkai energy fluctuations was strong enough that even instruments couldn't detect anything wrong.
There was no way someone could see through her disguise with just their eyes!
With that thought, Xina found some confidence. She glared at Fu Hua with a resentful look and sneered through gritted teeth, "Yeah, maybe in a hotel storage room somewhere! I wonder what kind of jerk would knock out a weak woman and then throw her into a storage room full of terrifying cockroaches and rats."
"!"
Now the pressure was on Fu Hua. She hadn't expected the world to be so small—the very person she'd knocked out for a mission was standing right in front of her, and had recognized her.
"Class monitor, what are you two talking about? What knockout? What storage room?" Kiana, oblivious to the tension, edged closer with a puzzled look. Just as honest Fu Hua was about to explain the whole story and admit her mistake, Xina spoke first.
"Miss Kiana, it's nothing. I just had a brief encounter with your class monitor before. What I said just now was just catching up, isn't that right... Miss~ Class~ Monitor~?"
The deliberately drawn-out syllables made Fu Hua's eye twitch, but faced with Kiana's suspicious gaze, she could only force herself to nod.
"I see..." Kiana looked from Fu Hua to Xina. Though she could tell they were hiding something, her personality didn't push into others' secrets.
Seeing no rush to move on, Kiana ducked into the convenience store to pick out some easy-to-carry snacks.
"Miss, that incident had its reasons, but... it was indeed my fault. I apologize to you here." After Kiana left, Fu Hua bowed slightly to Xina, offering a sincere apology.
"..." Xina looked at the woman who radiated danger at every turn, said nothing for a moment, then simply waved a hand. "Forget it, it's not a big deal. I forgive you."
When Kiana came out of the convenience store with her snacks, the three of them officially set off on the road out of the city.
Watching Fu Hua's back, a flicker of doubt crossed Xina's eyes. She looked like just a slightly stronger Valkyrie, so why did she give a Herrscher such an unusually dangerous feeling?
Xina thought for a long time but couldn't figure it out, so she opted for the most direct approach...
"Watch out!"
Fu Hua, leading the group, suddenly stopped and grabbed both Xina and Kiana, pulling them back quickly.
Bang!
The next second, several towering Honkai Beasts smashed through the buildings and burst out from inside.
