A few days later, the Valkyries, having received their individual equipment, were ready for battle.

"Xina, leave the enemies we can't reach to you." Kiana waved enthusiastically at Xina from the neighboring squad.

"OK." Xina flashed an OK sign, confidently kicking the crate beside her. "This large sniper rifle of mine can blow a Death Stalker's brains out from eight hundred meters away!"

"Only eight hundred meters... Captain, you're too modest!" Xina's squadmate glanced at the intimidatingly large crate on the ground, feeling both relieved and a little wistful. She was relieved to be assigned an easy, straightforward mission while still receiving the same subsidy level as Valkyries like Kiana, who fought Honkai Beasts and Death Stalkers up close. But she also lamented having fewer chances for real combat experience, leaving a faint unease in her heart.

"Gods' Throne Series Holy Spear Gear... Longinus?" Rosa bent down, tapping the red-lettered text on the sniper rifle case with her finger, reading it out word by word.

"Longinus? Isn't that the spear that..." Mary clapped a hand over her mouth mid-sentence. Her family was religious, so she was sensitive to such terms.

Dragging the gun case to an empty corner of the armory, Xina rubbed her hands together, looked up at her squadmates, and chuckled. "Want me to open the case so you can take a look?"

"Huh? Really?" Mary swallowed hard, cautiously glancing around. Seeing other squads also organizing their gear, she lowered her voice and asked hesitantly.

"A gun is meant to be used. What's wrong with a look? Though that big name is a bit intimidating to hear."

With that, Xina entered the password Theresa had sent her earlier into the lock on the side of the case, opening the bronze-toned metal weapon box.

The gazes of the surrounding Valkyries—some excited, some wandering—were instantly drawn to the new weapon in Xina's case.

Within just ten seconds, dozens of Valkyries had crowded around Xina, eager to see it.

The weapon was entirely silver-white, exuding a sci-fi feel that belonged only in movies. Even with the barrel disassembled, its main structure reached an astonishing two meters, and the surface was adorned with translucent vine-like patterns.

"Gods' Throne Series, prototype, Holy Spear Gear. It has the most stable trajectory, an effective range of five kilometers, the most precise scope, and overwhelming power. Only an Ace Sniper among the Valkyries is qualified to wield it."

"Theresa actually got this from the Bishop... Tsk, that's just like her."

Everyone turned to look. The newcomer was their makeup and camouflage instructor—Warith.

"Warith, aren't you a semi-civilian? Why are you here too?"

"I didn't want to come back either, but the higher-ups were afraid you girls would get lost in unfamiliar territory, so they had me, a local, guide each squad aboard the Hyperion!" Warith bent down, ran a hand over Xina's new weapon, and then swayed out of the armory.

An hour later, the Hyperion landed at the temporary base's ship docking zone. Once steady, a Valkyrie in standard Schicksal combat gear entered the armory and led the Far East Branch's combat personnel to the surface.

Judging by the Griffin Armband on her left arm, this Valkyrie was a C-Rank Valkyrie from the Middle East Branch.
