Do You Even Understand the Laws of Nature?
The Wampus Cat lay on a thick branch, where the lush foliage provided excellent concealment. The dim light was also to its liking, since the two-legged monsters wielding clubs that posed a threat to it had far inferior night vision.
However, the Wampus Cat remained vigilant, as this was, after all, an unfamiliar place. It recalled its experience of arriving here.
The Wampus Cat was strolling around its territory. The wild boar in the Appalachian Mountains was getting tired of its food and wanted a change of pace. While hunting a large, colorful bird that flew extremely fast, it saw something strange. Then, it simply touched the thing, and after a twist, all the familiar mountains and forests disappeared.
She found herself in an unfamiliar village. The bipedal monsters there were terrified of her, but the unfamiliar environment made her extremely sensitive. The hunchbacked bipedal monster with gray hair smelled nice, but the light emanating from his staff was very strong, which made her even more irritable and anxious.
The Wampus Cat licked its front paws. Just now, an invisible obstacle appeared in the air again, and its front paws hurt a little when they hit it.
It even felt a little aggrieved, because it hadn't intended to kill the shorter bipedal monster. The shorter one smelled better than the older bipedal monster, especially his eyes. The Wampus Cat thought of its parents, whom it hadn't seen for a long time.
It just wants to eliminate the threat; at most, it will just knock out the bipedal monster, but it won't eat it.
However, the Wampus Cat was puzzled because its innate ability to see through thoughts was useless against the two bipedal monsters, which was illogical. Fortunately, its hypnotic ability was still somewhat effective.
At this moment, the two bipedal monsters left for some unknown reason, but the Wampus Cat remained vigilant and alert. The king of the Appalachian Mountains never let his guard down.
However— the Wampus Cat licked its front paws again, its gaze involuntarily falling on the food in the open space.
Even a king gets hungry. It just stole a few pieces of food, but that's not nearly enough to fill its enormous belly. It has a huge appetite, which is one of the essential elements of becoming a king.
But I'm so hungry... I'm starting to miss the Wampus Cat boars I'm tired of eating in the Appalachian Mountains. How are you all? Are you still waiting for me?
However, it did not move its body and remained quietly dormant.
Suddenly, it smelled those two familiar scents again. The Wampus Cat flicked its long tail and licked its mouth with its tongue covered in fine barbs.
Is it coming again?
However, the king of the Appalachian Mountains will not yield!
Wait... there are two more unfamiliar flavors?!
On the way back to the mountain area, Sean stuck his head out and shouted down, "Professor, does this really work?"
He rode on the back of a giant Runespoor.
"Of course, Sean," Newt tossed a piece of food to Runespoor's three heads. "The Wampus Cat's hypnotic abilities are generally used against enemies weaker than itself. When facing a strong enemy, hypnosis is not so easy to take effect. In order to fight, it will switch back to Legilimency. At that time, you will be able to look it in the eye normally."
"Hopefully it works." Sean patted the snake's head beneath him. He had no idea that the Runespoor could retract, which meant he didn't have to worry about his robes being torn while riding it.
The snake heads on the left and right sides were somewhat dissatisfied with Sean's actions. "We are clearly a snake, how can you only encourage that daydreaming guy in the middle?"
They also came over, gesturing for Sean to stroke them.
Sean chuckled and rubbed each of the three large heads of the Runespoor Runespoor. Of the three heads, the left one was the decision-maker, the middle one the dreamer, and the right one the critic.
Because of their foul breath, the right side of their heads is often bitten off by the other two heads working together, which results in the Runespoor.
But the one beneath him was alright; Professor Scamander would occasionally put a cover on the right side of his head, and after Sean came over frequently, the cover wasn't even needed anymore.
Although I want to win favor, it would be ugly to be missing a head, right?
That wouldn't do if that poisonous leopard stole Sean's affections!
The three heads reached a rare consensus.
Behind them, the Niffler nimbly leaped over several small cliffs. It had volunteered to come and cover the retreat, but because its breath emitted poisonous gas, it couldn't stay by Sean's side all the time, which made the Niffler feel somewhat aggrieved.
However, that day isn't far off. I've been practicing for a long time now, and with a little more practice, haha—
"Roar~" The Niffler laughed happily, already imagining the wonderful scene of Sean oiling its stiff, barbed mane.
"Little guy, don't you dare move if I tell you not to," Sean, turning around to give a warning after hearing the Niffler's movements.
"Roar!" It nodded seriously.
Upon reaching the mountainous region, Runespoor lowered its head, Sean slid onto the ground.
Where are the Wampus Cat?
Newt looked around carefully, then pointed to the middle of a tall tree. "There, there's only so much space in my box. It'll be a bit difficult for that little guy to hide there."
Sean squinted and looked, and sure enough, the Wampus Cat's soft fur was visible through the intertwined branches.
"When they confront each other, Sean, you go forward, and I'll stay behind you," Newt said.
Sean nodded, Runespoor swam inside with its massive body.
"Awooo!" the Wampus Cat roared, leaping down from the tall tree and letting out a deep growl at the Runespoor.
Sean was about to step forward when he saw the Wampus Cat's eyes turn black again.
He quickly turned his head. "Professor, doesn't it feel threatened?"
"We need to add something," Newt said, tossing a large piece of food onto the open ground.
The Wampus Cat's muscular throat twitched, then it stared intently at the Runespoor.
Runespoor received Sean's signal, it didn't even glance at the Wampus Cat. Its three heads twitched, and finally, the leftmost head stretched out.
The Wampus Cat's pupils instantly turned back to deep blue; it sensed a threat.
However, the Runespoor flicked its tongue, then suddenly stretched its left head forward and swallowed the food whole.
"Awooo!" The Wampus Cat became unusually angry.
These three-headed creatures have three different mindsets! The two heads wanted to attack, but the one on the left was eating first?!
With a formidable enemy at hand, you're eating first? Do you look down on the king of the Appalachian Mountains?
Don't you understand the laws of nature?!
The Wampus Cat pounced instantly.
The three heads of the Runespoor hissed in unison, twisting its body without fear. It was already much larger than its kind, and before Sean arrived, it had been fighting with the Niffler from time to time. It was just a big cat!
The two Magical Creatures wrestled violently, while Newt drew his wand.
"Protego!"
The Wampus Cat is too fast for the spell to hit, so let's help the Runespoor defend itself.
"Woo—" The Wampus Cat kept letting out a deep roar. It was very agitated. The giant snake opposite it was unexpectedly strong, and the transparent wall often hindered its claws.
"Awooo!" It got angry.
