The Treasure of the Slytherin Common Room
"Wow, that's really efficient..." Sean exclaimed, clutching the note.
With Dumbledore involved, everything would be fine... With that thought in mind, Sean slept soundly that night.
"Sean, wake up, wake up!" Someone excitedly shouted in Sean's ear early in the morning.
"Terry, what's wrong?" Sean rubbed his eyes and sat up in bed.
Terry Boots, his face beaming with excitement and adoration, exclaimed, "Professor Dumbledore has succeeded!"
"Huh?!" Sean immediately realized, "The monster in the Chamber of Secrets has been eliminated?!"
"That's right, it's all over the castle—and I heard they're planning to move the monster's corpse to the playground for us to see! Hurry up and get dressed!"
"Dumbledore really amazing..." Sean exclaimed, then quickly put on his clothes and ran towards the playground with his roommates.
When they got outside, the area was already packed with people, and in the very center, a huge corpse lay there.
It was a gigantic Basilisk, its eyes had turned into two dark holes, and its forked tongue, wider Sean's body, dangled from its mouth.
Its body was covered in charred marks and sharp wounds, and its massive body was already cold; it was clearly dead beyond any doubt.
The Basilisk, which had plagued Hogwarts for so long, was decisively dealt with by Dumbledore. Looking at the Basilisk's enormous corpse, Sean even felt a sense of emptiness.
I did so much decorating...
The students stared at the Basilisk's corpse with a mixture of fear and excitement, discussing it animatedly. Except for the Little Snakes, everyone cheered excitedly.
"Long live Professor Dumbledore!"
"The headmaster is truly amazing!"
Various exclamations of praise rang out.
Sean had never doubted Dumbledore's abilities. However, he was now curious about something: what was the situation with the Slytherin that Gormlaith had mentioned was about awakening?
Did Dumbledore solve that? And what about that Ghostly Horned Serpent?
However, Professor McGonagall announced that all measures would be lifted immediately, including the Forbidden Forest decree— Ron, no longer living in the shadow of spiders, weakly collapsed to the ground.
That Ghostly Horned Serpent was dealt with too... Sean breathed a sigh of relief.
He looked around and saw that almost all the students had come out, and the noise was clearly going to last a long time.
Does that mean there's no one in any of the Common Room?
Sean blinked; he was still thinking about the wool he'd gotten from Gormlaith.
He quietly left the crowd and headed towards the underground.
Along the way, Sean changed into a Slytherin uniform and then put on a huge Wizard Hat —which covered his face.
His original plan was to ask Harry to help brew Polyjuice Potion to sneak into the Slytherin Common Room, but now the opportunity was good, and besides, Sean didn't really want to drink that mud...
As for the password, just toss Dave into Malfoy's pocket. The little guy is getting bigger and bigger, but the Thorn Sheath he's shrunk into is getting smaller and smaller— Dave's quality is getting better and better. Even if he leaves Sean, he won't be tempted to taste other people's brains.
Sean got the password the day before yesterday, and Dave is quite good at imitating human pronunciation.
The Slytherin Common Room was located behind a stone wall in the Hogwarts Castle dungeons. All the students had gone out to watch the Basilisk, and Sean was not questioned at all.
"Blood is thicker than blood." Sean recited the command, and a stone door appeared on the wall.
Sean strode inside, and sure enough, the Common Room was empty.
The Slytherin House Common Room was a long, low-ceilinged dungeon, with round, green-glowing lamps chained to the ceiling. Part of it extended down to the lakebed, and the entire room was bathed in a somber green hue. The walls and ceiling were made of rough stone, and a fire burned beneath an ornately carved fireplace. Despite this, the Common Room remained dark and chilly.
"Wouldn't living here for too long give me rheumatism?" Sean muttered to himself, then quickly began searching the rest area.
He quickly discovered his destination.
It was a stained-glass window with Portraits Slytherin on it. On the side of his bare ankle, there was a green mark that protruded slightly. It was a small green Little Snakes that you wouldn't notice even if you lived there for seven years if you didn't look closely.
Sean wasn't worried that Gormlaith would trick him, after all, Parseltongue was needed to open this place.
"Open it." Sean stared intently at the small green Little Snakes, hissing as he spoke.
The stained-glass window opened with a snap, revealing the turquoise lake outside. The glass panes shattered and then reassembled neatly, revealing a downward-sloping passageway before Sean's eyes.
It wasn't the box containing treasure he had imagined, but rather an archway leading to a certain place.
Did Slytherin actually hide another Chamber of Secrets at the Black Lake?
Sean frowned. Now he was a little unsure. What if there was some kind of magic inside that could detect bloodlines? If it detected that he wasn't a descendant of Slytherin and immediately opened the floodgates, he would be in big trouble.
Sean thought about it carefully for a while and decided it was worth a try. The reason was simple: Gormlaith Gaunt had told him about this method, and obviously only the descendants of Slytherin would have the opportunity to discover it; Slytherin wouldn't harm those people.
As for Gormlaith, she provided this information for two reasons: first, to gain his trust, and second, to enhance Sean's abilities to help him complete his plan.
In Gormlaith's mind at the time, Sean was useful, and if she wanted to harm Sean, she could simply take action—after all, the cowardly ' Malfoy ' was no threat to her.
Therefore, she had no reason to provide false information, and the so-called treasures inside were probably not very valuable.
Having figured this out, Sean raised his wand.
"Lumos"
The tip of his staff glowed, and then Dave sprang from his sleeve, growing larger into a gigantic, bat-like monster that stood guard in front of Sean.
Dave's drool dripped onto the ground.
"There doesn't seem to be any danger inside... How about the fish brains outside the window?" Dave thought to himself.
Sean: "... I'll get you some to try when I get back."
"Good!"
The man and the insect slowly walked down the archway. The scale here seemed quite different from the Chamber of Secrets. Soon, Sean arrived at his destination.
It was a Stone Chamber, about the same size as the Slytherin Common Room, with many stone tables placed in various corners.
The Stone Chamber has a huge hole on the side facing the lake, which is enchanted to keep the lake water out of the hole.
"Hmm?" The sharp-eyed Sean noticed that something seemed to be piled up at the bottom of the hole.
At that moment, Dave's frantic warning came through.
"Watch out! Watch out!"
Sean instinctively raised his wand, and his left hand instantly transformed into black particles.
Then, the hole separating the lake from the water trembled, and a huge head suddenly appeared.
Before Sean could close his eyes, he saw a pair of yellow eyes.
